Okay, I have never had a trailer but I just got back from a 800 mile round trip to Savannah, GA and the new Valk handled well and was more comfortable than I predicted. Not as comfortable as my old 1999 Interstate but not bad for its design. I like the touring windshield but it definitely is too straight up and causes buffeting at Interstate speeds (I plan to fix that). I have the Honda Saddlebags and the matching touring bag but there simply was not enough room for my stuff and my lady companion. I have looked at getting a small 1 wheeled trailer from Uni-Go which is streamlined and handles very well compared to the larger 2 wheeled trailers and I can roll it right into any motel room. My problem is that I cannot find any motorcycle trailer hitch that is made for our new Valk 1800. Does anyone know of a hitch setup that will work?? Does anyone else have the Uni-Go trailer on any of their bikes? Is anyone actually towing a trailer behind their new Valk1800 or even considering do so??? Thanks for any help.

Try going back to the dealer and letting him know you actually want a f6b or maybe even a full dress wing. But more seriously I would never consider pulling a trailer with a valk, sure it could do it easily but so could a camaro/mustang/charger and I would cry so see any of the above doing so.

Me 3. It totally defeats the purpose and the awesomeness of the bike. If you're into the long distance two up I agree, a full on wing.

trade it on a f6b. your only option that makes sense. Maybe Russelville Honda will take pity on you and let you trade for one of their left over f6b's. They have 2013,2014 and 2015's in stock, new

If you go to the Uni-Go DEALER website they have a CONTACT US page.
I'd bet that is the best place to go and ask your question.
Well, that is where I would start anyway.
Uni-Go is not going to build a bunch of hitchhes till they have a need for them.
Give them a try, you might be surprised what kind of a response you get from them.
I hope you realize no other trailer make is going to make a hitch for Uni-Go. They don't want to make a hitch for something they do not SELL.

I will be ordering my hitch soon. Hitchdoc say the Goldwing hitch works on the new Valk. I will be pulling my Aluma trailer. As to going back and getting an F6B or a Wing, if I wanted them, I would have gotten them in the first place. I want a Valk.

Can't say I blame you for wanting the C. I suppose if you had a long trip and it had day trips with neat twisties maybe chain it to something and leave it for a free day of fun and the trailer is not an all the time thing. Good Point.

These are the voyages of the 1800 Valkyrie. Its mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.
Im a little surprised at you guys, the 1500 accepts a trailer very well why would you not put one on the 1800? Heck I would love to see that and actually I have seen some great trailer setups for the 1500 that surprised me. In reality the Valk may be better equipped to tow a trailer than a wing, because it has less weight which translates to more power, better brakes and handles a better. Even the F6B cannot make these claims and there are some here who have already gone on major trips with the Valk. If done right it could look way cool and the uni might just be the thing. Heck we have heard of guys keeping up with sport bikes maybe this will be a true multipurpose bike.

But more seriously I would never consider pulling a trailer with a valk, sure it could do it easily but so could a camaro/mustang/charger and I would cry so see any of the above doing so. If I had wanted a Goldwing or F6B, I would have got one. I traded in a 1999 Valk Interstate with over 170K miles on it and I currently ride 5 different motorcycles (Rocket 3, VTX1800C, VMax1700, FatBob CVO110 & Valk1800). I wanted the lighter weight of the new Valk and I didn't want all that front fairing crap, hard bags and trunk and all the other crap that comes on the Wing or the F6B. I find the Wing and F6B to be repulsive and basically full of unnecessary comfort crap that is just BS for real riding enjoyment. Regardless of what you think, the engine, size of bike, suspension and lighting makes the new Valk a great in-town, short trip and long trip bike and that is 'exactly what I will use it for'. I plan to get a really cool looking and handling bullet shaped trailer to use when and only if I decide to take some long trips since I am retired. I don't ride two-up because my lady is no fat, wimpy non-riding biker bitch ... she rides all 3 of her bikes better than 95% of the men out there. I joined this group hoping that most of the riders were wanting to be helpful, friendly and show some fellowship towards other bikers that shared similar interests in the Valk 1800. Apparently, I was mistaken as it seems that most want to just be cute and blather their humor on replies asking for help and/or information about this new Valk model. Okay, it was amusing ... now is their anyone out there that can actually post some helpful info about the question I asked?

Thanks RJ for the info, I already contacted them and they don't have a compatible hitch but said they have a kit that allows for the their universal joint type hitch to mount onto any other standard type ball hitch that most trailers use. I also found out that quite a few if not most of the trailer companies don't make their own hitches and simply refer you to purchase a hitch from some generic specialized companies that just make hitches for many different bike models .... go figure!!!

Hey, Papa Smurf, you are one angry retired dude! Sounds like you need a Nappy Poo! Sometimes it helps to do some research before you ask a question, and where do you get off calling my wife and other members partners fat, non riding biker bitches? If I could reach you through my monitor I'd slap you silly. Go back to work.

Rusty, You really need to re-read his post. You really think that it was OK for him to insult my wife and others by calling them offensive names, because he wasn't getting what he wanted?

Okay, I am sorry about that part of my comment and you are correct it was not called for. I was simply tired of all the stupid responses that were a poor attempt at some kind of stupid humor or outright distain for a legitimate post for help or information. I joined this forum thinking that it was a group of Valkyrie owners that wanted to discuss their bikes and help each other out. I apparently was mistaken and it appears that most simply want to play around and post nothing but their opinions as if their viewpoints are the facts of life or some kind of comedian humor. I am a decent guy that is happily retired and motorcycles are part of my life and have been for over 50 years and owning over 28 bikes. I have liked all of the bikes that I've ridden and like this new Valk very much. I already researched magazines, internet and other riders about getting a trailer for my new Valk and found several types that I liked but could not find any information at all about a compatible trailer hitch mount that was made for the new Valk. That is why I asked for help or information at this forum and I actually thought that regardless of other riders opinions I would at least get some useful information about it, not senseless jibes criticizing my choice of motorcycle or how I use them. I did over-react but frustration can cause that to happen and I don't like to see that in other people or myself so I am man enough to admit the error. If the apology is not enough, you are more than welcome to email me directly through my profile email address and I will be glad to discuss it directly with you ... I won't kiss your arse but I will admit I was wrong. I have about given up on getting any real information back and it looks like I will have to have a custom built hitch mount assembly built for the new Valk. I've also decided to simply view this forum in the future and not attempt any kind of dialog or requests for help or information as it appears to be a useless endeavor. My bad ....

BlueElf You truely might have to get a custom hitch made if your looking for something at this time. With this bike being something new and the Vendors not really wanting to make accessories for this bike. Remember it's not a Harley LOL Phil

No apology needed! I also got a little pissy myself! Actually, everybody here is usually quite helpful. Trailer hitches must of triggered someone's funny bone! Anyway, don't take it to heart. They meant well! It was probably the double blood moon!

Thanks nerider2, I tried to leave their website a message query but it wasn't working so I will try to call them tomorrow. Again, thanks for the information. Called MCHitch company and spoke to a guy there. He said they could probably make a hitch for the new Valk bike but he would have to have someone ride over to his location and let them use their bike to fabricate & design a hitch. Said that they usually don't charge the initial rider for the first developed article. They are out of Hooper, Nebraska and their phone # is 402-512-1970. I cannot ride over to their location at this time. So if anyone else might be interested in getting a custom trailer hitch for the their new Valk 1800 at this time and lives close enough then give them a call. That way, he will then have the specs to make the hitch for any future Valkyrie 1800s.
