Went on a great ride Saturday with the Duc Man and the Babysitter. We rode down to a buddy’s hilltop party just North of the Ohio river. The party was great although our cage driver who was bringing the camping supplies and grandkids got sick so we came back the same day instead of spending the night as planned. They had grilled chicken, corn and pork and tables of covered dishes.

The beer was flowing, four-wheelers and off-road go carts were everywhere and the view and comradely were as good as it gets. The last two miles of washed out, steep and rutted gravel roads just made it a more interesting ride. It was dry and the bikes and our noses got well powdered on the gravel.

On the way we ate at a restaurant on the Ohio river (The Overlook?) with a great view, great service and good food. It’s on Hwy 62 about 8.5 miles East of Sulfur. Hwy 62 from 162 to the Overlook was a great road for motorcycling. As is all of Hwy 66 we rode. 145 as it takes you over Lake Patoka is a great ride too. Perhaps the best road of the day was US 150 from Prospect just North of French Lick to US 231. That’s roughly 21 miles of very nice twisty, hilly road.

The Duc Man had point on the way there. Some leaves are starting to fall and watching his valk blast through them and then blasting through myself while they were still stirring was cool. These are the kind of days one can never have too many of. The kind I hope to be enjoying or dreaming of when I leave this world.

Many of these roads have the potential to ruin your day so stay focused as always when riding them.

I’ll try to post a couple of pics later, I’m out of time right now.
Happy Trails.
