Shady Valley General Store was like a ghost town today. This is one of the most popular spots for motorcyclists in the east. I've seen it when you could hardly find a space to park your bike. Sure, it was cloudy and a few (a very few) scattered showers but mostly it was a great day for riding. Temps in the upper 60's and no hot sun beating down on ya. And when we pulled into the parking lot about 3:30 pm there was 5 bikes present. The lady behind the counter said it had been that way all day. They had 3 xtra staff come in 'cause they thought it would be very busy. Had to send them all home.

Well these are very believalbe and rather pleasant to look at. These are quilt patterns. Some lady started this recently and it has caught on big time. She transferred some old quilt patterns onto these billboard like things and talked some folks into letting her put them on their barn. Now they are all over the mtns of NC TN and VA. I think we saw a few in KY also.

Some of you may have seen this house before. It's visible from 321 near Sugar Grove, NC. I know on Britman's Memorial Day ride this year we passed it.

Thanks Strider, but I have to give credit to my wife for the last 2 pics. She has taken over the picture taking when we ride. And I must say she is doing an excellent job.  cooldude She took about 1300 pics in 12 days on the road while were out west.  Shocked
And where is Warren today??? You still on the road?

I've seen those old quilt patterns on barns and always wondered...Learn something everyday  cooldude
Area business owners is claiming the crack down with law enforcement on The Dragon is hurting  business ( motels ,restaurants, gas station etc. ). Last time we did The Snake it was just as bad if not worse with more patrol cars than motorcycles  Undecided
By the way my Grandmother made some very beautiful quilts all sewn by hand...I have several as does my sister we have stored for safe keeping.
If the law must hang out at these places where folks go to get the RUSH of motorcycling we might as well put their a$$ to work  Cool

Speed or cross the yellow and get yourself a big high dollar ticket...

My great aunt Stelma made us one when we got married. The pattern is called "wedding ring" it's a bunch of circles linked together. I've seen that pattern on a barn somewhere.
Oh Yeah, those are some cool pics of Tennessee's finest. Leave it to you my friend.  Grin
