Can someone give me a parts number for a generic thermostat and gasket?
The numbers on the "Generic Parts Page"  are invalid, according to the Carquest clerk.

stay with OEM.  no benefit for any other. too cold and engine wear goes up and performance and mpg go down.

33489 Gates # and 13869 is for the stant # bot are for the 195 thermostat just have them look up the 180 number off that. They do also make a 160 in that style thermostat that will also work. 19300-634-812 is also another number again in 195 the application is a 93 Mitsubishi Montero with the 3000 engine in it or also a Honda Civic. Go ask for a 180 thermostat by application and you should be fine.

I must say that I have never seen an engine damaged by running to cool but have seen many that were destroyed running to hot.

I believe Jeff offered an alternate thermostat number, which I changed too when I put new in antifreeze (5/12) and it offered a higher flow rate at the same temp. I noticed a difference and will take any improvement in the cooling department I can get down here in Florida land. My records show Duralast number 15868. Hope this helps, also try search.
