Has anyone thought that that the lighting at the back of the 1800 Valkyrie
is not bright enough? I have been thinking of adding a larger red running
light ,mounted on the back fender. If possible make it a brake light as well.
Looking for suggestions. I am going to check with the Honda dealer to find
out what would fit the rear fender.

Was also thinking about adding a rear light till I realized that the plate light is very bright and reflects off the license plate. Its very hard to miss and the flashers can supplement in a dangerous situation. I cant find anything that would blend with the lines of the bike either unless you do something like a led strip and bend it around the fenders or a smaller one across the top of the plate.

I was thinking of hooking up the LEDs on my saddlebags.  The turn signals are out, but maybe the running & stop lights may work.  Something to do in the spring.  I will be putting the bike in storage in a couple of weeks.  tickedoff tickedoff Cry Cry

The first ride I had when a friend on another bike followed me, he commented that my bike may need more rear lighting.  The factory taillight is very low and LEDs in daylight are best viewed near eye level.  After thinking about where to put more lighting, I think I would like to try a thin, but bright strobe flash brake light mounted between the back ends of the grab rails. There are tapped holes in between for mounting the backrest and luggage rack, so brackets could be fabricated to mount right there. I think this would be a great place, unless you run without your grab rails and passenger seat.

There is an LED license plate frame available on ebay and other sites. I used it on another bike a few years back, doesn't strobe but was hivis. was about $25 I think, wasn't a lot or I wouldn't have bought it.
