Drive Shaft to Pinion Cup Seal

Can the drive shaft to pinion cup seal (stopper ring) be re-used or does it need to be replaced every time you do drive line maintenance? Thanks in advance for the advice. JOHN

If it's in good condition it can be reused. If it gets worn it will tend to walk it's way out of position.
I don't change it often (I inspect/clean the pinion cup every 10,000 miles) but I keep one on hand just in case it's needed (cheap part).
