Dates are TBD, but I am considering mid-April.  I know that March is more attractive for teachers and parents due to spring break, but the weather then is a little more risky.

I voted "Both" before I actually read when the trip would be.  crazy2  If the trip were to be in April, as much as we'd love to go, it would be impossible. Definitely in for a weekend in the Hill Country though  cooldude

1. I'm going to have to use one week of vacation before InZane next June.
2. I'm ashamed to admit that I've never been to Big Bend.
3. Big Bend is at the top of my Texas ride to-do list.

I voted Big Bend.  coolsmiley

Since it's within a day's ride (a long day, but a day) to get back home I'm thinking Big Bend is a good makeup for missing Inzane by 100 miles last year.

Sorry, I can't say what they said.

1) I don't get vacation and my schedule is dependent upon the business schedule.
2) I have been to the park but in a cage, not a motorcycle.
3) It IS a place I'd like to ride the Valk.

So, 1 out of 3.

I've wanted to spread Pat's ashes in Big Bend off the back of my Valkyrie, it was our favorite place to go,  I'm in!

Here's the link to a page at the National Park Service that shows monthly averages for High Temp, Low Temp, Monthly Precipitation, and Cumulative Precipitation at Big Bend.  I've been told that February is the best month for viewing foliage.  Still kinda chilly!

Looks like May is the sweet spot max/min temp-wise.

The best motorcycle ride in the state isn't the twisted sisters its the river road from Lajitas near Big Bend to Presidio, and you can take that to the bank.

So, is this happening?  April 30-May 1st?  Just curious - I'm already committed to the MS-150 Motorcycle Escort event.

May or may not be happening, but since the discussion has been revived it sure has gotten me all pumped up. Totally forgot about it, but I remember voting both.

Curious minds want to know, especially those with reserved peach space.

Big Bend is nice.  Spent a few days riding there in November last year.  Morning temps in the 30's but getting to the 50's with nothing but sunshine and blue sky.  Really warms you up your leather jacket.  Was a great ride and the park was very, very empty and quiet.

But no road better road in Texas than the river road up to Presidio.  Stop, have lunch and then ride back.

And you're close enough a side trip the Davis mountains is a nice alternative.
Can't make this one but hope everyone rides safe and has fun.
