I have an older Corbin Leather seat.  It has some cracks in the leather.  Not real deep yet.  When I clean and treat the seat, it makes it very slippery.  Something I don't care for at traffic lights Smiley  Is there anything I can put on the seat that isn't slippery, and will slow down the cracking and deterioration?

this is all I use on leather products. heat the leather up before and then after application and it will seep right into the leather. If done right it will leave a slight wax feel on the surface until after some use.

Mink oil, very light coat with fingers only, let dry and buff with a soft cloth or shoe brush.  Toothbrush the seams.  It may be tacky for awhile until dry (can take a couple days, set it in the sun).  Should not be slippery (the more you buff for shine, the slipperier it gets).  Never use ArmorAll.

If you have cracks or scratches, you can try to disappear them with Kiwi black shoe polish.  Again a very light amount in small circular motions (use a cotton rag not fingers this will stain), and do this before mink oil.  Best thing to buff this is with rolled surgical cotton soaked in cold water, squeezed out and worked with the grain of the leather (for shoe polish, not mink oil). (not your wife's facial cotton balls)

Go for high shine with polish, follow with mink oil buffed with boot brush and not a high shine.

I have an ultimate seat on my I/S it an older model that is leather (their new models are marine grade vinyl). The shoe repair and leather worker I go to told me to use Mink oil, it will condition and water proof (to an extent) the leather.

Thanks for the invite.  I'll have to watch the Florida board.  I've been off the bike and board for awhile.  About a year ago, a texter pulled out in front of me.  I came within a gnats eyelash of being a red stain in the road.  I parked the bike and decided to sell it.  Not out of fear, but I just refused to be run over by an asshat that was playing with electronics in their cage.  I sold a lot of the goodies off of it, figuring I could get more selling the goodies separate than  if I just left them on the bike.  I took the money and used it in another hobby.  So, the bike sat around for awhile.  I just couldn't bring myself to sell it, and started riding it again.   But now I miss the goodies.  I sold my Mustang seat and LeatherLykes.  So now I have some old soft saddlebags and a beat to sheet Corbin seat.  Oh well, I have something else I was meaning to sell that should cover a new seat and then some.

LOL  I feel like such a jackass.  Oh well.

learn something new every day. I have always used mink oil on my leather and will probably continue to but I may try beeswax if I happen to come across some

Just bought some of this (Doc Baileys Black) for my new Mustang seat for the F6b. I REALLY like it. The instructions say about an hour after application wipe off any excess if necessary but it really does the job.
It has very good ratings and a little goes a long ways.

I'm anti-abuse of animals and people,
especially just farm raising animals in terrible conditions just for their fur to satisfy some super ego rich person for status.

or how about the skinning alive of animals in china and other countries
[url=http://features.peta.org/ChineseFurFarms/]http://features.peta.org/ChineseFurFarms/

ever read how Vietnam and other countries prepare dogs for cooking, they loosely hang them and then torture them right before they die because the rush of adrenaline makes the meat more tender and tasty.
notice the cruelty in these basically godless countries.
 If the animal is hunted for food and its skin/fur is used that is alright with me.  While we're at it, I think and always have that all trophy hunting (again to satisfy some weak minded ego persons) should be outlawed. That goes for trophy fishing also, not edible no fishing or hunting, if anything if gives the nut job anti-gunners and anti-hunters more energy to fight for their cause, like the cases recently with the lion killing. Why, so he can feel like a big man?

so for the hijack wiggydotcom and Chiefy. won't post anymore unless it's about the seat

I have no problem with your view on this and even agree with it on the trophy hunting of big game.
