Went on Honda's site and the 2016 models have been listed. The Valkyrie is not listed for 2016. I think we were suspecting this. Hope she becomes a collector's item.

Don't panic - that only means that American Honda has decided not to import more of them to the U.S., most likely due to the fact they have sufficient leftovers and want to clear out inventory.  This happens occasionally in this industry and that is their method of inventory reduction;  Suzuki skipped an entire year for every single model they make.

Saying there is no 2016 is meaningless. Look at all different types of motorcycle websites and you'll see multiple bikes that stop it 2013 2012 and so on. Start with other Hondas. When mother Honda announces there will be no more then there will be no more. Not when someone thinks there will be no more.

My Valk is already a collector, I know I won't ever sell it because no one wants it new or used though it's more than half the prize of a GW, less expensive than most of the big bikes.  uglystupid2
I don't really care since the bike is so reliable and the spare parts market not an issue.  Cool

Automotive mfgs have to continue to manufacture parts for 10 years after production.

Because when you check the website it still says 18k, while I was fine with that number knowing what I was going to get and had started saving for it (my price was 14k, jumped the gun a bit) most people look at the retail price and ask why not just get the f6b or full dress for just a couple k more. Honda needs to start advertising the deep price cuts.

I don't either. People often stare at me though (I mean, stare at the bike  2funny), wonder what kind of bike it is, often admire. The fact is that the bike looks impressive and heavy thus pricey.
I suppose that if you don't actually ride it you can't figure how easy to handle it is, and comfy, and cool. Then you just don't inquire about the price.

What kind of answer is that?  Is the ST1300  discontinued?  What is the last year mentioned on the website for the ST 1300?  How much changes with model year in the motorcycle world? Do you know for a fact that the 1800c is discontinued?  So do you?

Yes, words in text can seem different than if it was in a normal conversation. I did not use exclamations in the post showing hostile, however on the flip side I could have used emojis for positive or questioning.

I will add that if I remember right this is the second time the death of the 1800c has been eluded to On this board and I just feel that would be jumping the gun and using the no 2016 model announced is no indicator.   cooldude

Actually, you're right. I've always said that it can be difficult to convey an attitude in emails. Ideas do get misinterpreted. I have no sentiment either way whether Honda decides to continue the F6C. I love my bike! I believe that they will sell the remaining inventory and possibly announce the new 2017 model. Who knows? A model with a more common front tire size would be nice! Smiley

I see so many parallels between the 1800 Valkyrie and the Valkyrie Rune.  Both were / are great bikes, with great engines, 'different' looks that don't appeal to everyone, both had passionate supporters, and built for a little more than 1 year but sold in 2 separate years.
One problem with the Rune is that parts, particularly sheet metal, we're getting scarce, so it was time to give it up.
I love my Valk, but obviously we're in a very small minority.

It will be disappointing to see it discontinued, but will hold out hope for additional years to be offered as it helps to increase accessories. But on the flip side it will e nice to one of the few with excellent taste and one powerful beast  Cool

Yeah.  My old bike, with its special Limited Edition paint scheme and matched / modded accessories,, got constantly looked at but just ended up with inevitable question, "What kind of Harley is that?!"

My new Valkyrie?  More stares, comments, yell-outs and "Wow, what's that?!" than I've ever experienced.  Drivers roll down their windows to inquire or express their appreciation, people on the street walk up to talk to me.  The Valk 1500 my have a rabid following but that's in the biker community; to the average person, it's just another Harley clone or something like it.  The 1500er's who are afraid to step into the 21st century will never get the chance to try one of the best machines out there, and step out of Harley's shadow (and the past) for once.

Easy stake bed,  it never happened with either of my 1500s either but if it did, moreover it is just ignorance on the part of the person saying it not a dig on the 1500. Besides he is showing a v twin that the comment was aimed at.    cooldude

Old wives tale.
Only safety & emissions part must be made for a specified time. Anything else can & will be discontinued as soon as warranties expire or lack of sales dictates.
Been in the car parts biz for quite a long time, I hear that old saw all the time.
Aint so.  Wink

I'm surprised to hear all of this, because whenever I randomly drop in to get a look at a new Valk, they're always sold out. One dealer told me that every bike that comes in just goes to fill his pre-orders.

Personally, I think the problem is the styling. Performance and technology-wise, the new Valk is obviously one of the most bad-ass bikes available today, but looks tame compared to other bikes in it's class. Don't get me wrong... I'll probably buy one after I sell off one of my other vehicles. I just have too many toys right now.

No offense to any owners, but I think the finish looks a little plasticky, and the biggest selling point is that beautiful 1800 flat 6 monster of an engine, which is all covered up. Although I've seen some great mods out there, I don't know what the designers were going for.

Yes, I realize it's improved on the old school Valk in almost every way. But my 98 looks like it would  have to stop all the mean bikes from taking the new Valk's lunch money, if you know what I mean.

We can understand, it's a personal thing.  But I will say this: the absolute brilliance of the design doesn't fully hit you until you RIDE it.  (1), the bike looks far, far better in person - super muscular, in the modern idiom.  Pictures just don't seem to carry it off the same.  (2), the radiator pods are INCREDIBLE, you don't get that until you're riding down the road at 70MPH or, conversely, sitting still in traffic on a 90-degree day.  In the former your legs aren't getting blown off in the wind, in the latter you are (surprisingly) NOT getting baked to death by engine heat.  Simply astounding for a 'naked' bike!

It's pretty IRL and then when you ride it...wow.  Seriously, wow.

I understand what you mean by the improvements of the 1800 bike. I wanted the 1800 but we had to have bags & a w/s for our kind of riding so we selected the "B". I was put off by the "too close to a full on Wing" looks of the F6B but after riding a while I adore the improvements. Love the wind protection & the wife loves the side mounted radiators & of course the radio. While I miss the stunning looks & ease of maintenance of our old Valks, that's about all I miss.
You really do have to ride the new "6" in either configuration to fully appreciate it.  cooldude

All that was said is true (I think) at least is is for me, when I went in for my 2014 Valkyrie there was a year old F6B for only a grand more but by the time I figured the dealer discount and the $1000 free acces. that Honda was Offering I opted for the Valkyrie, so I could out fit the bike the way I wanted,as I have said before, now its ME,and JUST ME no other one like it anywhere....

I, also, shopped for a F6B and thought it was what I wanted.  When I sat on one at the show 2 years ago I (thought) I fell in love.  But then I went to the dealer to sit on one and it was simply too big for my needs.  The F6B at the dealer was backed into a corner and even moving it a bit reinforced just how large it is.  I moved parking locations this year and getting in and out of that thing is tight.  So, after checking out the Valk, I bought that instead.

I'm glad I did - no WAY would I be able to get the significantly longer F6B in and out of that spot!  As it is I'm so glad that I backed away from my first choice of Corbin saddlebags to the leather Hondas, as I almost always have to touch the back corner of the right bag to the wall in order to get enough room to make the turn and that, in conjunction with other incidents, would have meant that the bags would ended up all scuffed up by now Sad  The leather bags shrug it all off and don't have a scratch on them.

So, good choice for me   cooldude  YMMV here  laugh

Hey, I'm with you. I love all kinds of bikes so I'm not really competing with any others. I was pretty close to buying a Rune this summer, but the prices seem to be going way up. The price of a brand new Valk is so good, it's hard to say no right now.
It's great that some third party addons are showing up so I could get the look and fit I want pretty easy these days.

Smiley The new Valk gets more attention than all other bikes I've owned or ridden period. To the point I wish they would leave me alone. I didn't buy it to impress anyone else. That said, you guys that own the old 1500 better just keep them as an extra cause the new Valk is lite years better in an all new magnificent way!!! Really shouldn't compare them, it's not fair. It's like comparing an old Corvette to a new C6 Corvette. All new, all different!!

That's just a click-bait site; the gas tank is that size now.  The copy reads from the original, 2014 introduction.
