I removed my front calipers to inspect, clean and rebuild. Now I'm trying to disconnect the brake hoses from the calipers. Here's the bolt:

I've got a 14mm socket on it, I'm holding the caliper firmly, and I'm twisting! It won't budge!! What the heck am I doing wrong? Is there some technique I need to use?

It threads into aluminum, and brake fluid can seep into the threads, harden, and make the threads stick worse than without it, kind of like thread locker. So, have you got access to an impact driver? If so, set it to a low torque setting, and let it tap on the head. That usually works. Or, you could put a block of soft metal, like aluminum or copper, against the head and tap it with a light hammer; sometimes this will jar the threads enough to free them.

Put the caliper back on the forks, then break that bolt free.

I'd be heating it up gently till its too hot to touch bare handed.  It should let go then without pulling threads out
