Who's Bert and Ernie Actually I haven't settled on any one bike amazingly enough. I have ridden every brand Sport Tourer along with several others and each time I'm happy to get back on my Valk and grin riding home, for different reason with each bike, but reasons strong enough to cross off my short list. Yesterday I rode a highly accessorized Concours 1400, 6 speed transmission, all blacked out, sliders, tip over bars, Tom Tom, throttle mister cruise, heated grips, ABS, two sets of pipes, two sets of seats, even two windshields with one blacked out, this bike is flawless and very sharp. I planned on riding home with it. Only two blocks into the test ride I turned around and brought it back. Some of you may remember my hips lock up on long rides? Well they lock and stay locked in the Connie riding position. Another off my list. Well today I have two more rides, last two bikes on my list. Actually three, but this one is out of my reach...BMW 6 cylinder 1600 GT, now that's one SMOOTH monster who is ergonomically correct. but at nearly 30k price tag will only be my Lottery Winning bike. So long story short, I haven't found the bike I'm willing to open my wallet for yet. Maybe I'll know more by the end of the day. ??? |

With risers installed my FJR was a real smooth comfy ride. I have been looking as well, and 07/08 can be had for under 8K.  |

You have a one of a kind beautiful machine that gets attention everywhere you go, and will last you for as long as you able to ride. But if your hips are giving you issues on all those bikes you might be better off to get that issue resolved before selecting a replacement machine. Gil |

Doug, if you go with the F6B do know that the stock seat is total dog doo-doo. Bear that in mind on any test rides. The obvious choice for a great & familiar upgrade to us Valkyrie people is the Ultimate. It does add the usual $900+ price tag to the F6B purchase but we should be used to that! Also the riser situation is very good, lots of choices for the Goldwing line up. I dearly love Hondas but one thing they suck at is seats!  The F6B is not an exception to that theory. BTW, the stock F6B windshield is useless but again the aftermarket has plenty of good choices to fix that. Plan on $200-250 to fix that. |

It does seem that all of a sudden, some of our staunchest Valkaholics are finding a reason to try out other solutions. While I can't speak to anyone's motive for "getting itchy" for a change, I would bet it's more a desire for change, rather than a "dissatisfaction" with the Valkyries. For me it's easy in that by having two entirely different bikes, I never get tired of either one of them! Viva la difference! |

Absolutely no dissatisfaction with my Valkyrie, love that bike.
It's been many years and it's time for a change, I found my new bike today and just have to work out the logistics. I'm slammed busy this week at work and will be working late with outside contractors. Ownership may be delayed until the weekend. I will wait to show and tell what it is until it has my tag on it.

It must be a hard decision for you but can't wait to see what you ride next. I'm seriously dealing with not being able to ride at all due to some hip and shoulder issues. I appreciate your pain. |

I agree on sticking around with this bunch, no matter what you ride. All you need is an interest in Valkyries, don't need to own one. As a matter of fact, next Saturday Viv and I will be going to Dixie Crossroads on our Indian Chieftain, while the Phat Gurl slumbers in the garage. |

I agree with Nick, wholeheartedly!!!! The PEOPLE kept me coming back, and truth be told, while there was some good-natured ribbing (which I also enjoyed thoroughly) nobody on the board or at any of our rides made me feel as though I had to buy a Valk to stay around. Now, I have my Harley for comfortable Touring, and my Valkyrie for my very own Rice Rocket!!!! Now, I just need to get the right set of Handlebars on the Valk to cure my sleepy arm, and I'll really be set.
