Does someone sell the screen that goes in the pod or is it home made? I've seen it on a few interstates, looks good hides all the brackets and wires

Gutter screen. You can get it in plastic or aluminum at any home improvement store The plastic would have yo be painted.

No kidding, that's all it is? How do you mount it ? Just glue it in?

Mine is metal screen. I mounted mine with the screws that are part of the pods. I like it because it hides the back of the pod lights.

I don't know if you've had your pods off before. For me that was the most tedious part. Just be patient and don't crack them.

For a bit of a different look, I used my old stock radiator screen...painted with 3 coats of chrome paint then cut to size and spot-JB Welded them into place. At first, pods are a bit difficult to remove and replace, but after several times you figure out the angle to get them back in place and it's a snap. I don't have the fog lights, so maybe a bit easier, although I did put my horns in each pod.

Make yourself a paper template, lay it on the screen mark it cut it out put it in and use a dab of silicone to hold it in place(easily removable) let it dry put back on the Valk. Patience Grasshopper

Patience Grasshopper I did mine a little different. I cut a roughed out section of screen , formed it in place, and used the screws in the pods to hold it in place. Also I think the screen I used was galvanized steel. It was pretty stiff. It was some I had laying around from a ridge vent covering.

Similar to Meathead, I cut them out oversized and bent them in place around the inside edges of the pod vents. Using the old radiator grill screen material which is quite stiff made it easy to form it and have it hold its shape. Then it was just a matter of adhering it to the insides of the pods. I orginally thought about using a thinner mesh material but then wondered how it would stand up over time...I'm happy with how mine turned out

What's with the screens, you trying to keep birds and squirrels from nesting in there?

What's with the screens, you trying to keep birds and squirrels from nesting in there? LOL...it does help to hide the car horns I put in there, and I like the looks. After 15 years of owning the bike there's not a lot more additions one can make to satisfy the "what else can I add that will look good" addiction, while still keeping it suitable for everyday and long distance riding. Saw this a couple of years ago and thought it looked pretty good. Maybe it's time to get a second Valk ....

Msb, did you put a car horn in one of the pods? That's what I was going to try next but didn't know if it would fit, my horn hangs in front of the timing belt cover and looks bad.

Yup, sounds bad too. Car horn fits in easily, just mounts right to one of the bolts that joins the two pieces of the pod together. Apparently you can also mount one of the Wolo Bad Boy all in one air horns in there. One of the first things I did when I got the bike was get rid of that anaemic stock horn.
