I know another oil thread but, in my 1500 I used Mobil one 20w/50 but was not really happy with the Mobil One for the 1800 in either the 20/50 or the 10/40 so I again tried the Redline 10/40 motorcycle oil and it actually made a difference. Its quieter, shifts better and although I have not really given it a true dyno test seems to run smoother. I think I will stay with this awhile to see how it does on a longer term use but so far I really like it. Cold starts by the way are also different, in they seem more consistent with how the bike feels warm.

Castrol really screwed everyone when they started selling their synthetic oil which is a mfg dino oil as synthetic because now even Mobil has gone this route. Using cheaper base stocks and putting in additives to bring them up to specs.

Wally World is now selling full syn 20/50 and 10/40 motorcycle oil named Quick Silver, branded by Mercury Outboards. I used the 20/50 in my 09 Superglide the other day, will use the 10/40 in my GW Valk come early spring. It was about $25 per gallon. I never owned a GW that cared what kind of oil was in it, I may use the Honda 10/30, used that in my NC700X in AZ summer, ran great.

I tend to agree with an exception that I have noticed a bit better shifting and a bit quieter and smoother. Will it add years to the bike I doubt it since they have already been proven to go the distance.
