Has anyone lowered the new beast yet? I'm getting ready to install the rear lowering kit from Lower Wing and need advice on dropping the front end to match the rear. I'm assuming that I'll just have to slide the forks up the required amount, but like everywhere else, there's plastic covering the top of the triple tree. Don't have the service manual yet so I thought I would check with the group to see if anyone has had any experience in this area yet.

Thx in advance for any insight.

I had my lowered, but I had the dealership do it as part of my purchase deal.
If I remember right they did slip the forks.  But don't quote me on that.

Reason I'm lowering in is that I got hit by a truck in 98 that wiped out my left side and when it healed it has a tendency to bother me a little bit after 700 to 900 miles per day on a 800+ pound beast.
Anyway, thank you all for your interest and input. We installed the lowering component from Lower Wing today, lifting the bike using a tip from "using a jack the wrong way", and it was not very stable. But with 2 of us, one stabilizing the bike and the other swapping out the component we got her done. One thing nobody mentioned, and it's not in the well written documentation that comes with the Lower Wing product, is that you need a 10MM allen wrench to get the most difficult bolt out.
We dropped the frontend by loosening the pinch bolts and lowering the jack to let the forks slide up the 1" that we needed to lower the frontend. You do not need to remove any of the frontend cowling to achieve this. We just marked the forks prior to loosening the pinch bolts.
The bike definitely sits lower, but it was raining when we finished, and it's supposed to be 45 with rain tomorrow so it may be awhile before I get to go for a ride, but I'm confident that it's going to be one sweet ride on my lowered sled! coolsmiley
