Here in Indiana “us Podunks” (we Podunks?) start to get a little antsy as bow-season approaches. Kinda like the way the road and the fat lady call us at the first hint of dry roads in the spring.

This is my son Joe’s first hunting video of the season. I though some of you might get a kick out of it. If you watch hunting shows on TV you will appreciate the humor I think.

Happy trails,
Frye

Didn't watch the video since it would take me a hour to do it! I haven't hunted since 98 when I 1st got married. Even after getting divorced still cant seem to find the time. I was a shot gun man. We did see a nice 10 pt at the GM plant we made a run to. Ran infront of the ambulance. They have biguns in there since they seldom get out of the complex.

It's been years since I deer hunted.  Started in 1947 bow hunting in Michigan.  Lots of great memories.   Stick bows before they were called stick bows.  Home made arrows with barreled Port Orford cedar shafts, turkey feathers and Black Diamond or Bodkin broadheads.    Bows made out of lemonwood, or hickory, or yew, or osage orange.  Hunting from a blind on the ground since raised platforms were illegal back then.

I'm sitting here looking at my last bow,  an obsolete Browning Nomad compound with wood riser, still strung but not used now for over 15 years, along with arrows of XX75 aluminum, plastic feathers, and rotating four bladed Razorhead broadheads.   I'd like to find a home for all this just like I've just recently found a home for my Valk.

It's a bitch getting old. Damn! Sad

The 2 guys I work with brought their bows here along with a target to shoot.  It is all they talk about.
