All,

I don't ride at night too often (forest rats!), but have a couple of times recently now that it gets dark earlier in the day and noticed that there is no backlighting on the controls for the radio over on the left handlebar.

Should all of those switches be lit in some way, or are they supposed to be dark?

Thanks, Allan

I only use three of them (on-off, channel and volume), and I don't have to look anymore.

A regular Helen Keller.   Grin

I don't ride at night much anymore.  I see like Helen Keller at night too.

nope, have to fiddle and learn the controls at night in the dark.  You'll get used to it since I drive home from work at night often.  I actually like driving home from work at night but I slow down to 55-60 mph tops but NO traffic, just critters to contend with.

I put up the Valk a few days ago finally so NO riding for me until around April 1st again.  Each spring I have to re-set the stations/control settings and learn how to set the clock, etc. since I take my battery out ever winter I find is best since not good to let battery out in the cold.

Got lucky twice coming home this year, once on Valk and once on scooter, scooter one was pretty darn close.  Shocked

I tend to wear my protective jacket with armour at night riding more so just for that reason of critters out all over.

Thanks for the input, everyone.

I saw two deer the other evening.
Both were really close to the tarmac, but in the grass and pointing away from the road.
Figured I would get past without incident, if they decided to turn around before bolting.
I did have a house cat try to commit suicide by darting across in front of me.
He was so close, I didn't even have time to grab the brakes, before he was gone again.

I did tail a big 'ol truck for a while at higher speeds than I normally care for.
He had one of these new LED light bars across the front of it and was lighting up everything within a mile.
He had a number of cages flash their high beams at him, but he just kept rolling along, with a bike tucked in behind him.
