Anyone know if a standard/tourer seat will fit (latch) on a interstate.  Isn't the standard gas tank a little shorter than the i/s and thus the seat a bit longer than a i/s?

thanks,

Wil

It will fit fine, I have one on my IS.
It looks like it was made to fit.

Agree...  They sell new for right under 100 bucks for front or rear seat.  Make sure you get a 2000 up model seat.

I now have one on my IS as well....

Many thanks for the feedback.......the black duct tape looked pretty cool for a while......but gotta bite the bullet and replace it sometime....there is a standard on ebay that looks pretty good, but I think I will look a bit longer.

I have Ultimate seats and just wanted to kinda match with another one.  The duct tape is sorta clashing with the pristineness of the bike......c

Yoe can always have your Ultimate seat repaired/recovered by ultimate seats themselves. My seat is one of the last leather models and when I spoke to them they assured me that it could be recovered with new material (not in leather of course). I believe it was about $150.00. I would give them a call it can't hurt to try.

They recovered it for me about 3-4 years ago, now the seat pan is broken in several places and the covering is split too........so the duct tape special til I decide upon something new. Really like the seat tho.

Wow only 3-4 years on the re-cover and its trashed like that and the pan is broken. For the price it should have some kind of warranty.

Hey Rio,
I have a used Ultimate I replaced with a Mustang. The Ultimate did not fit my behind well, or vice versa. At any rate, it does not have any duct tape on it and I would send it to you for 90.00 plus shipping if interested.

As the old saying goes.....one shouldn't look a gift horse in the mouth.....but I gotta ask:  what kind of shape is it in and what does it look like?..... crazy2 crazy2
