I'm wondering what options there are for my new 2014 Valkyrie... I can't wait to take it for a ride when weather permits here in Mn.... I've never ridden the 1800 f6c, so really anxious. I like a good size windshield, as I plan on some touring.

I got the Honda large windshield. riding without one is like having a large dude trying to push you off the back of the bike.
others have gotten the short version, and then there's one that looks like it was stolen off a BMW bike.

Rode my bike home from the dealer without a windshield and can tell you that wont happen again. I have the Honda OEM windshield and like it after I got it to lay back a bit further than factory design. Most shields seem to fit to bolt upright but that happens with almost all of them. Not a really flattering pic but at least you can see the shield. I admire your reserve in riding I don't think I could do it and congratulations on your choice.

I bought the Memphis shades Hellcat windshield at first, but it was a little too low for me. I then bought a generic atv windshield on eBay and modified it to what I wanted. I used the Memphis Shades hardware as well as some of the hardware that came with it. It came out nice, and it was only $53.

I'm not sure if this is the correct way to reply to questions. As for my bike, my bike doesn't have anti-lock brakes, I bought mine with 160 miles on the clock, and saved 1000 bucks more then the most reasonable new 2014 carry-over, that I could find within a reasonable distance. I did get the full 3 year warranty which is nice. I have the blue bike which was my favorite color out there. Three dealers I know still have a 2014 valkyrie on hand. I couldn't find the low low prices I have seen others find. I paid 12,999.00 Anyway, I'm happy, and look forward to riding.
As for windshields, I think I will go with the honda tall, and do one of the two ways I found on here to get a little more angle. I do like the mephis shade bracket and aftermarket windshield install. Look great.. But I think honda line, and I will get accessories at dealer cost, will be the way I go. Glad to hear your happy with the hondaline. Thanks everybody, I do appreciate your feedback.
I may of made a mistake what I paid. I might of paid 11,999 before TTL. I was quoted a few different prices, and now, thinking I paid less then I first quoted. I will check with my paperwork, and get back if its more then 11,999....

They quoted me a price of $14660 OTD with ABS Before TTL $11700

Model-specific windscreens include Honda (2 heights, 5" and 19.75"); Gustafsson (6 heights plus the option of custom-made) and Secdem (51cm / 20" or custom height option). Several generic handlebar-mount screens can also be made to fit.
Height chosen depends upon several foctors: torso height (how tall), arm length (how far away) and coverage preference (where you want the wind to go). At about 5'8", with slightly short arms, I have the stock seat (sitting 1" forward of the rear lip) and stock bars. Using the Gustafsson 8" Euro Flip, I get a steady wind blast that starts about 2" down from the very top of my shoulders - about what I want for warm to hot days, I like my helmet in the wind. I may add a 10" screen (probably not the 14", but who knows) for the very coldest journeys but I did 400+ miles round-trip with the 8" on 50-degree days and, with the heated vest but no heated grips yet, was very comfy. The bonus are the radiator pods that keep your legs out of the breeze yet also the heat off your legs, a win-win no matter the outside temperature.

Well I'm soon to be on my third windshield. Started out with the Oem boulevard screen. I wanted to avoid the tall Oem screen because I hate to look through a screen. Don't know why Honda doesn't offer an intermediate height screen. I assumed that the 5" screen wouldn't be enough. Mostly I bought it to get the hardware so that I could buy a taller Gustafsson screen and use the Honda hardware to install it. At that time Gustafsson did not have compatible hardware. Gustafsson has since started selling the hardware as well. I bought an 8 inch Gustafsson screen which was significantly better than the Honda boulevard screen but still too much noise to hear clearly.
So a couple of days ago I ordered the Gustafsson touring screen. It is wider (25.5") and taller. In order to use the Oem hardware the maximum height I could order was 16". I wouldn't want taller anyway. I'm hoping I'll be able to see over the top of a 16" screen and that the larger screen will solve my noise problem. I'm 5'10"". Am anxious to try it but due to the miserable Midwest weather I'll have to wait a few months. Anyway that will give me time to figure out how to install my saddlebags. But that's another story . . .

I don't know if it could be done to the Gustafasson screen but there have been guys who cut their screens to achieve a lower height or different custom shape. This may be something you may want to consider.

I made my own. I kept the stock windshield off my C14. A little snip here, another there, whola... The mounting hardware came from Twisted Throttle if I remember right. Here is another view showing the hardware.

Like some others I first tried the bulivard shield from Honda..... not tall enough..... Hondas tall shield seemed toooo much$$$$$$$$ so I kept the hardware and went on line looking at other replacement shields and found one for $59.95 more in my price range.... Since it was not made for the 2014 Valkyrie I had to cut and drill acouple extra holes to match the hardware I had, in the end it came out just fine and have ridden with it this past summer with no problems up to speeds of 100 MPH and fairly forceful side winds..... so untill some one comes out with a batwing type with at lease an 18" shield I will keep what I have.... Other mods I have made on the bike is Using a Viking hard trunk but making my own brackets to bolt off Hondas sissy bar to mount the trunk close behind me so I can use it as a back rest on longer road trips, and along with Hondas soft bags gives me plenty of storage without having the bike look unbalanced or top heavy... I am revewing how to post pictures so hope to have some up soon......... waiting for next spring........... ride safe life is good

I'm hoping I won't need to cut it down. The screen I ordered is 16" tall which will hopefully be tall enough to mute the wind noise, but not so tall that I can't see over it.
