Hey gang, I'm slowly yet surely building my confidence on working on my own bike vs. paying the stealer who does a cr@ppy job anyway.  I was replacing my air filter, last night and noticed a bunch of crude on my petcock.  When I looked in the airbox I noticed some oily residue towards the rear.  I think (not for sure) that is the outcome of adding too much oil prior to leaving for Sturgis.

Considering a new petcock; I understand the risk/reward of a Pingel, yet was wondering if this would work...

I also have a chrome engine cover with a chrome on/off/res knob and I'm looking for opinions on whether or not folks can reach their Pingel petcock whilst underway.

Thanks in advance for any insights you can provide

I have OEM petcocks on both my bikes. So I can't say how the reach would be. But the oily residue in your air box is normal. Nothing to be concerned about.  cooldude

I installed a non vacuum Golan valve on mine and left the chrome hanger on. Takes a little getting used to but you can reach under to turn fuel on and off. Even with gloves on. I went to ace and found a stainless plug to replace the fuel knob with and it looks like it came that way.

Yes, that one will directly replace the OEM.  Most Valkyrie owners seem to choose the 1311 which is non vacuum.  The one in your post has the same 22mm mounting nut, so it should be good to go
