It' s about that time again....shall we have a meal a and meeting or would we rather just have a casual ride to someplace with great grub?  Talk amongst the thread and then we'll put it to a vote.

I suggest a Sunday ride-to-eat.

OK - we'll call it Saturday, January 16.  Now for food choices...here's what comes to mind:

Babe's - we could do the one in Carrollton or ride up to Sanger to the one there
Twisted Root - this is in Carrollton - great burgers and "adult" shakes
Keller's - many of us grew up eating burgers and hanging out on NW Hwy

Need to decide on time and place - voting is now open!  My personal vote is lunch at Twisted Root, but I'm flexible.

We may want to keep the location fairly close; the weather for Saturday, according to news this morning, will be quite chilly.

Never mind, I must have been picturing next weeks forecast. Embarrassed

Saturday the 16th, sounds good, weather bug says high of 50 and partly cloudy. So I'd be good with what ever is decided. twisted root has some interesting menu items. but I might suggest greenwood grocery, since we didn't get to do it last month.

(on a side note, I was referring to this weekend, flying in tomorrow and back out Sunday. and I get home again friday night. so this is good)

In the interest of having a plan and given the weather etc., let's say meet up and eat up at noon at Twisted Root.  The would still give us ample daylight for a ride afterwards, maybe toward Aubrey area - someplace fairly close by.  I'm not much of a ridemasrer, so hoping that Disco or Rainmaker or another veteran ridemasrer has a route that can pull up?

I'm an almost definitely not for Saturday.  There's a good chance I'll have to work.  If I don't have to, there's a better chance I'll only be starting the coffee phase of the day as you are ordering burgers.

... for a ride afterwards, maybe toward Aubrey area - someplace fairly close by.  I'm not much of a ridemaster, so hoping that Disco or Rainmaker or another veteran ridemaster has a route that can pull up?

There are lot of nice roads and horse properties in and around Aubrey.  Regardless of where you go, I highly recommend you avoid I-35.  The road surface is in terrible shape and is poorly marked with all the construction-related lane rearrangements.  To make things worse, it's always crowded, there is almost always stop and go 80mph, and it has become highly competitive.

Sorry to say we're out for Saturday. I have been reminded that I promised to take number one son to Plano for a train show and then up to Frisco for the train museum. Hope the rain holds off until the evening hours and you get a good ride in.

Babe's in Sanger on Sat sounds go to me. Everyone take back roads up to avoid I35 thru Lewisville, Lake Dallas and Denton just like Disco mentioned before.

How say you?

Given the weather and construction concerns, are we still go for Twisted Root at noon?  Chime in folks  Smiley

Thanks to some bad weather forcing the meeting to cancel, Lucky_1_Chris, ValkPilot, Disco, and BuzzKill came to my place and met up with Timbo and we rebuilt my forks, Timbo's forks and disassembled Disco's forks for a future build.

Thank you Mother Nature for an impromptu wrench party.

I didn't think about taking any photos during the WP but here is my end result.
