Hey guys and gals, has anybody ever moved the trunk a couple of inches further back?

Yes. Used aluminum stock. Took me a long time, but still in place and solid after 15 years. Used a 1" x 1" bar 3" long at the bottom of the center front of the trunk where it mounts, drill & tap both ends. Another piece long enough to span under the front of the trunk, to receive the 2 bolts from inside the bottom front of the trunk, maybe 1/2" x 1/2" wide. In the back, 3 flat pieces of stock 1" x 1/4" by 3" long, to receive the back bolts inside the trunk. Painted it black. Gave us an additional 3 inches. I'd offer some pictures, but I can't get at the trike right now, due to a PODS in the driveway. Used the original hardware, plus the additional stuff needed to mount the new pieces to the frame. I believe the wiring was long enough to handle the difference, although I added turn signals & other stuff. Hope this helps.

I relocated mine to my '99 Tourer.  Grin

Going to build up another trunk with quick release mounts and install on my I/S this summer.

I did just the opposite and moved mine forward since I never have a passenger. Pretty cool look.

Moved forward ... Now a driver backrest for a solo Interstate.

Moved forward, now I would like to see a nicer side pic of that one.

Might be nice, a quick detach, and move it forward. I do like having a backrest. I can't have one while riding with my co-pilot, so I end up using her for one instead, but while solo I have nothing.

I liked my ACE Tourer for just that. Pull the driver backrest out, and move it to the rear for the co-pilot.

Would it be that simple to just flip the rails to move the trunk forward, so you could use it as a backrest. I seen a guy had that setup on a tourer out in the southwest. But, I didn't really get a chance to look it over. Would also like to see a side view.

The bike's owner is Matt ( Truckracer ) at www.carolinabikeandtrike.com   he was going to start making the polished stainless steel bracket to move the trunk forward and offer it for sale on his site. I took this pic at InZane in Johnson City , Tennessee and its the only one I can find ( thought I had a couple more ) pretty sure he didn't get much interest in the design and never made anymore. I'm sure he still has this one and the pattern to make more still available. He's got back into racing and stay's busy with his business doing that.

Harley Davidson has a system that will allow for the trunk to move forward so they look very similar to Matt's Valk.
