Hello fellow Valkyrie riders!

I bought my beauty about a month ago and its one sweet bike. I figured I'd post what I do to my bike for everyone's benefit, since I've had trouble finding specifics on adding stuff with good pictures.

The bike came with the OEM tall windscreen on it. This helped tremendously when I rode it down from Indiana to Florida over the Christmas break. But I definitely found the windscreen cause buffet which beat my head around and gave me a headache. I'm looking to add the OEM wind deflectors in hopes that it will relieve the buffet. In the mean time, I removed the Windscreen. I found that at 80+ mph without the windscreen, I can deal with the wind pushing me back, but I get uncomfortable after about 30 minutes.

I found a nice "Waterproof" Jack and USB that mounted to the handle bar. It comes with an ON/OFF switch for the USB ports, but the jack is continuously powered. The USB has enough power to charge my phone while its navigating, so I can use the phone without worrying about battery life. I cut the wiring and heat shrunk it to cover the red wire. That way it didn't standout on the otherwise clean handlebars. I routed the wiring behind the headlight and fed it underneath the fuel tank without having to remove any parts, which was super nice. I wired it directly to the battery.

The USB cord goes right to the phone mount, and is springy so it doesn't get in the way. The phone mount keeps the phone about 3 inches above the tank, and is masked from the wind by the speedo, making it very stable and minimizing risk of the phone flying off the bike!

While I'm waiting for the Corbin Saddlebags and Seat, I put on a Cortech tail bag I had lying around, since I hate wearing a backpack! Here's some pics of how its mounted and the space inside.

I plan on documenting the install on the following in the coming months:

Ricvo Aero Pegs
Corbin Touring Seat with 2 backrests
Corbin Fleetliner Saddle bags
OEM Wind deflectors
Brakeaway Throttle lock
Fog lights
Centerstand and exhaust cover

I'll post what I think of each as I use it too.

I hope this adds to the forum for others to reference. Let me know if I should add anymore details. This bike is my transition from a sportbike, and hot damn is it comfy!

Hey Andy,

You will enjoy that bike like none other.  I have done a bunch of mods as well to make it mine. That the most fun part about a bike.  cooldude

One thing with the USB jack hooked directly to the battery.  It will draw power constantly, so if you don't ride the bike for a while it can drain the battery.  Don't ask me how I know  Wink.  There is a connector under the seat for what you need. It is attached to the plastic wall in the box under the seat.  Take off the seat, and connect the USB to that.  It is switched, so you won't be draining the battery when the key is off.

Andy re "I found a nice "Waterproof" Jack and USB that mounted to the handle bar. "  Can you post a link of where you found it?  I like the clean look.  Also for the phone mount too please - THANKS!

Dhaile got the link for the USB charger, here's the phone mount:

http://www.amazon.com/iOttie-Holder-iPhone-Samsung-Galaxy/dp/B00FXSU43W

My phone maxes out the width of the clamp, making it fit very securely. I haven't tried it with a smaller phone, but I think it would hold on fine. I'll try a smaller phone when I get the chance.

Also, if you want to mount the USB charger further up the handle bar, you may have to extend the wires, since they're almost maxed out the way I routed them. That should be pretty easy though.

Its always nice to add the things to the bike to make it your own...... I did the same.... but the best thing is the motor!  Thats the main reason I got the bike, otherwise I was very happy with the 1500 Valkyrie I had, but when I rode the 2014 1832 there was no dought in my mind I wanted it.....now with the things I have added I have a bike that will do me for the rest of my life.....and then give it to my grandson so he can enjoy cruising and the power... who knows by then if they dont make anymore it might be a colectors bike!,,,,,

Mine was on its way to being someone else's, until I managed to get the handlebars
comfortable and the windshield decent...

Now I love it...

Good luck with those Rivco hiway pegs, I didn't much like mine...
