The years have caught up to me folks. With a bad back and poor eyesight because of Glacoma I must sadly say goodbye to motorcycle riding. For 50 years it's been my passion and the people I've come to know here in the VRCC have been a pleasure to ride with. I wish you all good luck and many years of motorcycle riding to come. My Valk is up for sale so that kind of makes this official for me now. Dropping my kickstand for the last time and not owning a motorcycle anymore is a hard thing to face.

Sorry to hear this news Hoy... but enjoy yourself in less demanding ways. I fear I am not too far behind you.

We will all be at that point one day Hoy.
I hope it doesn't mean your leaving the board... We need as many adults as possible to keep an eye on some of us..

Sad news for sure Hoy....
At least you didn't make that decision from a hospital bed,
after making one too many rides.
As Danbury said; "we will all be making that call sooner or later"
So....grab a cup of coffee and your best flask, and enjoy
this place we all call home.  cooldude

Don't know if you'd trust an old lady, but when it warms up, maybe you'd like to take a trike ride one day...

I can say from this side of the fence my friend that I completely understand where you are coming from.  I'm pretty much at the same point here because riding just isn't physically comfortable for me anymore and I feel that trying to force it just put both Laura and myself at unnecessary risk.

Time to sit on the porch with a little brown jug, rock a bit and just stare off yonder.

Hey Hoy, I've enjoyed the rides we've done over the years.  As others have said, in time we're all going to get to the same place.  Cherish the memories and tear up the lake with you boat during the summer for the wind in your face feeling.

When June rolls around and it's Laconia Bike Week again my backyard will be available to pitch a tent and use of a grill to cook on for all my VRCC friends. I am located 20 miles north west of Weirs Beach. Stay a night or stay the week. You know my area code.... Cell  254-9422.  cooldude
