OK, I know, I know.... can opened worms everywhere.

it seems like the best replacement is the f4 though the most expensive.  but if it last longer doesn't it average out?

are the others just as good though....wondering if I am missing something

F4's windshield are Lexan with an anti-scratch coating, as is the OEM shield.  I guess the question is, is their anti-scratch coating better than the OEM's?  Direct Line Parts lists the OEM at $184, and F4 lists theirs at $225.

My Clearview still looks great, but I have to be careful cleaning it... only micro fiber
cloths, only water or joes juice or mild soap, no rainxy stuff... careful to "wipe up and down"
for no swirl marks.

The F4 windshield is coated with something they say keeps it from scratching, based on
their claims I bet it works at least pretty good.

I have an unwanted almost new OEM windshield in a box in the barn... it is thin and floppy
compared to my Clearview, and has optical flaws. I might rather crash through the OEM
windshield, but I'd much rather use the Clearview...

My experience with Clearview  shields has been great.  Friend had an F4 and neither of us was impressed with the optics or edging.

If you are looking for one for your IS pictured in the Avatar, it would help if you indicated which height you might be interested.   I have 3 different shields for my IS, the OEM tinted I think, the larger ShowChrome/BBP shield and the latest one being a shorty dark tinted one by Cee Baily.

I have the stock now, and I think it does the job.  if the windshield fogs up I can straighten up a little and look over it.  a higher one would not be advantageous to me I dont' think

Then I recommend stock height Clearview replacement.

+1 on the Clearview.  I got the 17" with the vent and smoke tinted.  Loved it during the warm summer months, but since the weather turned cooler I put the stock shield back on and the extra 4" makes a difference in staying warm.  I can see over it if I sit tall, but I really like the Clearview at 17".

I've got one that was basically perfect the last time I got it down and cleaned it.

Bike Bandit says they are $298, but they can't ship them...

http://www.westernhonda.com/ says they are discontinued?

service honda's fiche page is busted right now...

http://www.procaliber.com's fiche page doesn't list a price for the shield.

Partzilla - $359.11 - not available...

Will somebody else check? I don't think you can get "64100-MZ0-700"
anymore...

I guess I'd sell mine for $150 plus shipping, but Clearview will send you
a better one for about that price... $165.00 for a 21 inch stock width clear
unvented one for example...

Clearview and Cee Baileys are both good choices.  I have one of each and they are holding up well. Optics were good in both. FWIW

I have a 21 inch tall Memphis Shades “Fats” with the Black lower half.  Had the dealer install it when I purchased the bike (New) in 2003. It still looks great.  cooldude

+1 on the Cee Baileys. I have one of their clear stock size on my IS and it's great. It's a little thicker material than stock so it fit's snugger and stops the movement and rattling.

Agree on Clearview, I also have a 17" "Shorty" (4" shorter than stock), and I love it.  I'm 5'11", and my eyes are barely above the top edge whilst driving, and the wind just barely touches the top of my full face top helmet vents for circulation.

I would also mention all the Clearview windshields I have are much thicker than stock which means no buffeting; solid.  Highly, recommend the vent for it reduces updrafts from below the windshield into your chin.

Perfect,

Bone,

I thought I had done that, of course I did not have my glasses on when typing either! Thanks for the complement, I spend a lot of time during the winter on maintenance and detailing (a little OCD), shes set up for solo this coming season with a new to me solo rack and a 501db speaker upgrade, still have front brake pad replacement to do but waiting for the rotator cuff rehab to take affect! Its hell getting old!
