Has anyone in recent times had their front or rear stock wheels widened? I am wanting to widen the front to 5.5" and fit a 200 tire on it... not really looking for opinions just replies from anyone who has done it. Seen it in the VRCC Facebook page.
The shock is blocking the part of what looks like a modified stock swingarm. In the second pic disregard the rear wheel because thats for his hardtail project...but the front wheel

it looks amazing, i had never seen anything like that before. looks really hard. is the frame modified too or just the swingarm??

Damn, that rear rim looks wider than my Titan truck rims. I would think one would have to be pretty proficient at welding to accomplish that.  Smiley

Not on the Valk.  But I did one on a GL1200 a few years ago.
Kosman Specialties used to do them.
Then something weird happened, (I believe someone retired?) at which point Custom Metal Spinning took over this aspect of that work.

When Kosman did mine, the welds are some of the best I have ever seen.   IIRC, it was about $600 maybe 5 years ago.  Prolly more now.  Grin

I'm not sure about the front, but a 200 tire will fit on the rear with no modification needed.  

Lots of folks here run a 205 car tire.  A 205 car tire will sometimes (not always) rub the fender nut cage.  It's an easy fix... grind off nut cage, replace with standard nut, then put a washer under the rear rail (between rail mounting point and frame) to widen out the rail (and thusly the fender) a tiny bit.

Anything over 205 width on the rear will require swing arm modification.

I have been running a 200 in the rear forever and just put a 170 bridgestone on the front.
Will be order an ad08R soon in 205/55-16
