so, with regards to the new and original Valks..
It could just be me but I notice far more original Valks for sale now than before the new Valks came out and wondering if its because of that?

like everything they both have pros and cons, I wont ever get rid of my 03, I  think original Valks are one of the most visually stunning bikes, engine wise and while the new ones are decidedly a visual 360, from a tech perspective you cant deny a 1800 fuelly is so.. righteous, eliminating all the carb/hose/vacuum issues.... has anyone swapped that motor into an original Valk yet?

I always wanted a new Valk, but not for the money when introduced, but now I see new 2014's listed for $9999 !! and that makes me want to go and get one(but do I really need one?)

Once we passed a bicycle/moped we passed need.
It is now about want.

$9999 sure makes it look attractive.

I love the 1500s wait. I LOVE THE 1500s!!!  that's better.  It is single handed the most beautiful bike ever made in my O!  That said. I LOVE THE NEW 1800c!! It is pure joy to stick key in turn and go. It is not the Slightly- faster bike that has me the 1500s impress me there moreover it is the agility and ease of it.  Very thankful to wife as she lets me have one of each!  Do you need one?  Idk. In order to answer I suggest you take one for a ride, not just around the block! Then answer. Also consider the F6B.

In My Opinion, The Only Thing That I Like About The New Valkyrie Is The 1800 Engine, The Rest They Can Send Back To Mattel For Re-Manufacturing !

 That's Why I Bought The F6b, For The 1832cc Engine, The Fuel Injection, And The Other Accessories That The 14' Valkyrie Doesn't Have ;Like Saddle-bags, A Fairing/Windshield, Stereo, Heated Grips And Sport-Bike Handling . I Still Love My Valkyrie But Fuel Injection Is A Must With All Of These Alternative Fuels That The Carbureted Bikes Just Do Not Like To Run Well On !

I always liked the old Valkyrie... I think my old Valkyrie is a pretty good
one, not a sloppy worn out one. When I ride it, I like it as much as
I ever did, and that's a lot.

I know which one I choose to ride the most, though...

IMHO

Not to put anyone's ride down because we all have our different taste and I respect that, what I like might not be what others like.
When both the New Gen Valk and F6B came out, neither one jumped at me in the looks department or I would probably own one by now. Technology wise, we all know there is no question there.

Fast forward to today and I see the changes that Jerry and Hubcapsc have done to their bikes and the new Valk is starting to grow on me AND with the prices that I see now, it does make it very tempting.

The age thing also comes into play in my case, there will probably be a point in my life that a full Wing will make more sense but time keeps ticking and the gap for enjoying a New Gen Valk might be now not later  Undecided

Need?, probably not.
There could be many reasons for people selling their Valks, financial, move to new tech, health etc., etc, etc.
I say that if you can pull it off, WHY NOT, enjoy while you can.
Price sure makes it VERY TEMPTING for a lot of us and even better if you can have the best of both worlds, one old skool and one new skool   cooldude

He then went on to tell me that they were going to sell them and move into something different, maybe a Wing. I told them about the VRCC as they had no idea that there was a group. They live in Clearwater, he rides a Standard with a Lamonster Supercharger, she rides a stock standard.

I told them to join the forum and get them listed in the classified, so will see. I had this whole conversation with them in the 2 min I was sitting in the saddle ready to pull out, so of course I did not get their names, but real nice folks.

We did walk through the parking  as I like to look at peoples bikes and all the neat things they have done to their rides, did not see another Valk only yours sitting there all nice and shinny (you must have washed and waxed it recently). cooldude

Hopefully the couple you met will join us here even if it is on their way out of their Valks, I would like to get a chance to test ride a blown Valk one of this days.

Personally, I only like ONE of the new Valks that I have seen, and that is Jerry's, with the mods he has made. Stock, as it comes from the factory, I think they are butt-ugly.

I have my Fuel-Injected Harley with all the bells and whistles and the Tour-Pak and the stereo, and I LOVE it.

I also LOVE my '97 Tourer, with a small windshield and saddlebags, and the 1500 Engine with 6 Carbs and LOTS of acceleration. I probably would not keep a new Valk if someone GAVE it to me. Just not my kind of machine.

We {Kim & I} are responsible for three of the old style Valks on the market over the last couple years. We traded in 2 of them & sold the one outright that OLDFRT now owns.
Reasons were basically age & carburetors. It is hard to beat the visual WOW factor of the old Valk but technically they have been surpassed. I eyeballed the F6B pretty hard when it first came out but was a bit put off by the full Goldwing look it had. Heard there was going to another flat 6 model coming from Honda so I waited. Then the new Valk was introduced.... uhh, no. Did not like it at all.
Well the F6B was back in play, there will be no 2 banger bikes in my garage!  Grin
Love the bags, the EFI, the wind protection, the power, the braking, the handling, the fuel mileage & capacity, & even the looks have grown on me even though I wish it was not so similar the full Goldwing.
Absolutely loved our old Valks but these F6Bs are the best for our style of riding. We may only have another 10 years or so of good health to enjoy motorcycling & our F6B's will have no problem being our last bikes we need.

I am a mechanical guy. I like the looks of a hot rod with its engine exposed. I love seeing the workings of a machine, a biplane with its control rods, rotary engine exposed, an old farm tractor with all its workings. For me my interstate is eye candy with its massive engine, multiple carbs, manifolds, transmission and gas tank out in the open. EFI would be a nice feature, but to me riding a bike is me sitting on a frame with an engine and its workings out in the open. A Trunk, saddle bags an fairing are there to enjoy the experience even more. That's what drew me to my interstate over a goldwing I was looking at.
In today's world every thing is hidden, just open the hood on a new car and gaze at the plastic engine cover made out of plastic.

  I agree with you hundred percent, I couldn't of said it better myself.
I also sold my 2 Valkyrie's in the last 2 years. I sold one to buy a ST1300 ( great bike) but when the F6B's price dropped I traded the ST for the F6B.
I will always love the looks of the old Valkyrie but the F6B just does ever thing better.
