It's been just over a month since we got a big snow storm here, and the road at the end of my driveway is finally clear of ice! So, this dictated that get the bike out and stretch her legs. Nice leisurely ride into town, get some things done and then head home. As I'm getting ready to take the on ramp, I encountered a guy with no regard to anyone but himself.

Im glad your ok but that is one thing I always do is look to see all the traffic coming and if all the lanes are stopped. People miss red lights all the time and these bikes are so fast off the line you can be there in a flash. That is also why I try to let a car go first, bigger easier seen and acts like a guard sometimes.

His light had been red for a while.  That kinda thing unfortunately happens all the time.  I don't know what can be done about it that will fix it long term.

Ya, I know what you mean. Its been both in cars for me, but I was a passenger, and we stopped at a 4 way stop, and took it for granted the other car was going to stop, and i said, watch it, and luckily, my girlfriend stepped her car to the boards, and he barely missed us.. Its like he wasn't even looking up, as he didn't brake at all. If my friend didn't react correctly, I know I would of been a tester for the side curtain airbags... SO close.....

Then another time, I was passing on a 4 lane highway, and all of a sudden I seen a car coming right at me, the wrong way down the 4 lane. Again, he didnt try hug over at all, it was just like he was  blind... I never stepped on my brakes like that, as I had to fall back in order to get in the right lane... People need to take driving seriously, and stop doing other things....  Both these happened recently... I plan on being a better defensive driver, as we have to watch out for people who don't know how serious their careless behavior can be to the innocent.... I know its only human to make mistakes, but some are true carelessness and irresponsible...

Thanks for your video, it reminds all to watch out for others who don't watch out for anybody else.

Sad Yea, I almost got it last week from some young fat girl who was weaving in and out of traffic in Phoenix. She almost rear ended me at 70 mph before doing a lane change. No respect for anyone including herself

@idcrewdawg : I'm sorry to tell you made a mistake. You took for granted that your green light meant full stop for the  crazy2 cars.

You should know that this kind of belief kills bikers all over the world ; I know it because I was almost cut in two 15 years ago, exactly in the same situation in Paris. Fortunately the car hit the front wheel only because I was using my brakes like hell.

My personal nightmare : to die because of someone else's fault though I drove correctly  uglystupid2

ONLY going to get worse and worse with all on their cell phones now see it near weekly for sure and exact same instance as you had people running red lights at least once every year driving around. I really think most cycle riders are better car drivers because of having to be more aware of our surroundings since our lives depend on us being more aware than a car driver.

Last year I came REALLY close being t-boned when an elder lady in a buick in the country pulled out perfectly clear vision straight road of me coming at her doing 60 mph on the bike.  Luckily,  I was VERY close to her seeing her head NOT look my way at all and still pulled out in front of me from a side road stop sign.  Had I NOT slowed down to 40 mph in a 55 mph straight country road I would've been a goner for sure still pulling out right in front of me.

Yet again last year as well a SUV pulling out on yet another side road me coming at him straight clear vision road I had NO time to slow down but luckily I got over in the 2-lane one way road over to the right lane at the very last second since he came at me pulling out and luckily stayed in the left lane otherwise I would be t-boned as well.

People just don't look around anymore or don't care.
