??? I'm contemplating changing my black Valk. to factory Red fenders, front and rear. What do you think? I'm sick and tired of the black scratching and cracking with little use. I'm trying to picture that with the black middle and tank.

How about painting the fenders black ?   I mean , it's the quality of paint you are upset about , yes ?

I think that would look pretty cool.  Red and Black always looks good.  No one else would have a bike like it.

??? Left the bike at my dealer today to get the red fenders installed. They installed the rear and when they took the front out of the box, it was scratched and pitted so they reordered. Sounds like American Honda has some real paint issues and quality control. I'm impressed with the bike but not the paint! Shame on Honda. I viewed the shipping box and it was undamaged.

I have so many scratches on my tank it is ridiculous.  I had my last Valk for 12 years, and it had very few on it when I sold it.  The crap paint that they use these days is criminal.  I will have to repaint it in a couple of years and use a good quality oil based paint.

Have my bike for a year now. Have Corbin seat with back rest, sometimes hit tank with my shoe lifting leg over seat. Have had absolutely no problem with scratches or scuffs to date. If my shoe leaves a mark, cleans right off. I use a plexaglass cleaner in spray can to clean bike. 23.00 a can keeps windshield clean bugs come off easily and keeps rest of bike shining. Been in rain a few times and not even water spots. Water roles right off. Stuff is great. My bike is maroon. Not sure what youn refer to as red. Have not seen a red bike. Just black, blue and maroon. Thought they only made 3 colors?

coolsmiley Yes Maroon, or as Honda calls it Bordeaux red metallic to be exact. Only available in 2014, another reason I'm changing colors now on my black fenders. I've always liked black and red motorcycles so now I will have one!!!

Actually, for 2014 they called it "Dark Red Metallic" as per the Honda USA website (paint code R337M).

But yeah, it's tough - unlike the black, it seems, the red has a clearcoat   Smiley  Much goodness ensues.

All the more reason that, for the Valk, Red Rocks!  Cheesy

post it somewhere so you can get a URL then click on the photo button and copy and paste the URL between the provided brackets. The VRCC provides a photostash account (http://vrcc.photostash.com/) for posting private pics no one can see unless you post the code.

I'd love to see these pics too.
Did he go with the dark red off of a 2014 or the candy red from a 2015?
Ive thought my black Valkyrie would look good with some candy red parts.
it would be cool to see what it looks like.

Think about doing the radiator covers in red also cooldude

My 2014 red is very durable also, no problems at all after a year, I use any spray detail wax for cleaning. I could never understand the complaints about the paint, maybe the black has only problem?
