I came from a VTX R to this Valk mid-summer of 2015, so I thought “The Blue Beast” (my Valk) was running smooth. About a month and a half ago, I purchased the Digi-sync from Bons (aside – If you are thinking about it, do it). I finally got off my ever expanding and used the Digi-sync for the first time.

Initial readings on the digi-sync:

1- 310
2- 235
3- 245 (base)
4- 180
5- 238
6- 256
It WAS running smooth compared to the VTX, but after balancing all the carbs, I realized “The Beast” was so excessively rough, it was like riding an earthquake machine.
I don’t know what the numbers actually mean, but I brought all of them close together. While removing the vac caps, a few just crumbled.
As I balanced the carbs, the idle climbed all the way to 1800 rpm, which I adjusted to 900 rpm after they were balanced. All the carbs now sit in a TOTAL high to low span of .2in (5.06mm) of Hg (Factory book says 1.6in (40mm) Hg is standard). The bike rides like it is driving on glass now.
Thank you, Bons, for such a great tool.
I now need to get off my ever expanding and use this tool on my wifes’ Shadow Ace and My sons’ KZ750 …
