Getting out of NY for awhile and heading to a friends home in Lake Wales for a week or so. Bringing a couple bikes with me , I haven't ridden since I broke my ankle in early September and my buddy's really only a local rider so will probably stick close to home. If anybody has suggestions on some local restaurants or interesting sites I would like to hear about them. I would like to ride to the gulf coast just to say I've been there but traffic and crowds are not my style, and I doubt my friend would ride his fury that far anyway. Thanks Flint

Traffic and Crowds are not my thing either.   cooldude

I am no help on the east side however on the west side we love Carol's Café.  Also there are lots of mine roads just east and south of Mulberry like Bonnie Mine Road, Agricola Rd and 555. Very open, pro solitude therapy.  I can put together loops if you want to venture in that area.  Maybe TJ can chime in as well.  What are the dates you will be in town?

Thanks for the help, I will check out those roads they look close by and see if I can talk my buddy into riding to the café. His favorite place is Taco Bell and he knows I hate it. I will be down there from the 19th to the 29th of February. Thanks Flint

if you are going to drive to the Gulf coast you might think of going to The Resort and Club at Little Harbor, 536 Bahia Beach Boulevard, Ruskin, FL 33570.  It has little traffic and has a great tiki bar with great views of the water.

A ride the we like to do is take 301 to 41 and then out to Holmes beach and ride that road down to St. Armands circle. Some good bars and eats along the way and some good beach stops.
