Jerry, if you guys want to miss the "joy?" of riding through Orlando, just take the 417. You hit it west of Disney and it goes all the way around the metro area and crosses SR50 on the far east side, but does cost a few $$ for tolls. Or, the 429 just before the 417. Take it north to the t'pike, south on it a mile and take the 408 east through the city all the way to where it connects with SR50 on the east side. Again, a few $$ for tolls to keep the county commission's hands in their own pockets.

Another possibility is take the 417 around the south end of the metro area and connect to the 528. It goes east toward the coast, then take 407 northeast to I-95 & north to Tetanusville.

Or, stay home and have Sherry make you breakfast in bed. But this isn't a fairy tale.......   2funny

When I moved here nearly 50 yrs. ago, there were more roads like that in and around Orlando. Then came Dizzy the Rat and the whole place went down the tubes. I think they like to call it progress?

Dizzy and the Rat   2funny  that is good.  Yea I went there once and only once in either 73 or 74 and D land was not finished. The other parts were not even started.  I agree John.  Sarasota is turning into Miami over night and we are not even close to Orlando area in growth!  I drive 17 miles to work and it took me 1 1/4 hours yesterday!  I remember before I-75 existed here in parts and we had to drive 19 through St Pete and the old Skyway.

Mountain Home John! We have enough acres to not see or hear our neighbors!  We will not leave while Moms (2) and Dad are here.

I am in for this one. I need a few high mileage RTEs to get the Harley over 20,000 miles. Of course, I need to get off my dead butt, and get the new tires ordered and mounted for the Valk, so I am not reduced to riding my wife's Trike!!!!

When my folks retired to Mt. Home many years ago, their address on Gentry St. was on the edge of town. Now, it's all built up around their old house, dad wouldn't like it either....too crowded. As for the mess around Orlando, I've grown with it so am used to the traffic. Plus, I know all the back streets that let me get around a lot of it.

I did some pre scouting,  took one for the team and had lunch at Shiloh's today, very nice place good food great atmosphere with a big parking lot. 29 people in the Daytona HOG ride, my Valkyrie was the best looking ride there if I do say so myself (cuz no one else would admit it)!  2funny Looking forward to get some of our group there in a couple of weeks.  cooldude

As I said above, I am in for this one. I ordered the new Metzelers for the Valk yesterday evening, and they are supposed to be delivered by Wednesday. Maybe I can get them mounted and installed next Saturday.  Best of all:  I don't have to travel anywhere near Orlando to get to Titusville!!!!!

Sherry and I will hook up with Don in either Mt Dora or Sorrento. So worth the extra time to avoid the Orlando area and grab country roads.

Anyone that might come from the west are welcome to pit stop the cottage where we will have a morning pastry and fresh perked coffee. Then to go hunt down that old fart.    cooldude

That would be great. Jerry (and Sherry, I would guess) and I will be meeting at the Marathon Station in Sorrento on SR 46. Time will be announced later, but I am guessing 9:30 - 10:00.

O.k. Deb we are glad you and Fred can make it, see you in Edgewater.
Art it is amazing to me sometimes how it is an all day event just to go have lunch but it is always worth the ride and company we share. You as well as the west coasters certainly do have a full day ahead of you, but that new ST needs a good run, see you in St. Aug.

Mike,

If we decided that we would want to go (Viv and I) by when do you need to know? We would either meet up with DD & Fred at the Shell Station in Edgewater, FL, or just go down by ourselves. I've been in contact with texaninsouthfl and he is planing to go to the RTE, and meet up in DeLand later. So, that would work for us as well. I'll let you know once you tell me if we are too late. I can't imagine 2 extra mouths would be a problem, but dont know what the restaurant told you.
