Saw this trunk on a Valk at the Speedway during Bikeweek on 2/28. The trunk was perfectly sized to allow the lids on Tourer bags to open. Nice quality & it was mounted directly to the luggage rack. The Valk had New York plates on it. Anybody know what brand it is?

Have you checked those chinese scooter trunks? The little scooter shops that popped up after the gas prices spiked often have the little lockable chinese scooter trunks cheap. Craigslist in Troutman (Charlotte, Hickory NC sections) lists scooter trunks for about 15 bucks. Even if that isn't the right answer, it is a cheap answer to ponder.

Maybe....but this one was a bit bigger that most scooters could use. Plus it has a backrest built in like it was made for a big bike. HHMMMM?

I have a Givi trunk on my Tourer with Interstate Trunk hardware. The bags open with a very slight pull to the outside. The trunk is a V46. Nice but not cheap.

I think it's a VIP trunk. I have problems opening the photos here at work. But the thumbnail photo looks like a VIP trunk. I have one on my 97 Valk. Had it painted to match my Bumblebee colors and it's great! I have the spoiler on mine and it has LED lights for an extra brake light!

So what did you decide on that trunk Tropic? Going to try the websites or one of the recommended or did you decide to go another way?

I think that trunk is straight out of the JC Whitney catalog-really.

Yup. I found it in the JC Whitney website too. Read the reviews & I'm kinda on the fence about it. It appears the owner of the Valk in the pic made his own backrest. I would like to see one inside & I wasn't going to touch someone else's bike so all I did was take pics. I may get one & modify it to fit. We've been using this huge Harley travel bag strapped down to my homemade aluminum "pizza" plate. Now that we have 2 Valks to transport our stuff I may be able to get away with the smaller trunk. More lockable & weatherproof storage would be nice!

My 03 had one just like it when I bought it. I'm pretty sure JC Whitney is where it come from, it is pretty sturdy however the hinge screw are pretty small. The backrest on mine seems to be hard plastic also. I took it off the Valk the day after I bought it, and now I'm thinking about mounting it on the Spyder.

And a small trunk. Then you'll have the trunk for your stuff and the trailer for her stuff when you take trips. Speaking from experience. When we had the Wing and a trailer, I usually had one bag in it and carried my rain suit in the trunk.

No way big John. Don't give Kim any big ideas! I'm just not the trailer pullin' kind. Besides I think I finally have Kim trained in the fine art of packing lightly. When we take a weekend trip in the car she packs enough stuff for two weeks. When we went to the Keys last year she bought FOURTEEN pairs of sandles from Kino's in Key West! Took up one FULL saddlebag of just shoes. That's Kim buying the sandles. Filled the entire LH saddlebag of the Rocket. We came home with way more stuff than we left with!
