I accidentally got some carb cleaner on my nice black I/S dash  and it has turned it white in spots. I have used all kinds of armor-all type tire and black plastic restore products, which turn it back for about 5 minutes, then when they evaporate its back to dull white.  I am going to use black shoe polish next unless one of you guys have a better suggestion. Thanks.

You can get paint for vinyl at an auto paint store.
They can put it in a spray can for you.
I have used it many times. I changed the color of inside door panels on a Jeep, from a dark red to light tan.
It still looked great after four years, look as good as factory panels.
I also used it on a faded Corvette dash, looked like new.
You will have to clean it really good to get off all the stuff you have used.
The paint store will have something for cleaning pry to paint.
I would repaint the whole dash.
It's not hard.
Hope this helps.

Thanks Jim,
I was hoping i didn't have to paint the whole dash because the area is about the size of 3 quarters, it just looks unsightly on my bike. I may end up going that route. Thanks for your input.

The black plastic center piece of the dash is about $35.  I was expecting this piece to be much more expensive.  I just replaced mine because of a couple of broken tabs on it.  It was rattling like some kids toy when hitting bumps.  I also had a couple of dash lights out and just replaced them this past Monday.

The worst thing about taking the speaker panels and dash out of the Valk is the screw sockets.  They are pressed into the plastic faring and some of them will stip out when you try to remove them.  I have used JBWeld to glue the ones back in that spun in the hole.  Now my faring is whisper quiet and I have replaced my windshield with a short black one for the rest of the summer riding season down here in South Texas.

Good Luck,

Check out Home Depot's Paint Department.  They have improved their selection and now have a variety of paints... some spray Chrome Paint even and also spray paints for Vinyl or Plastics.

I agree, the screw sockets were clear mis-engineering. i used epoxy on mine.
