Doing a bunch of work on my bike and I am a novice so bear with me.  Changing fork oil on my tourer.
Buggered up the fork cap on one fork.  Will order new one but dont want to change springs.  There only one year old, progressive springs but this should be able to be done without removing springs. Watched all the videos and following them. Putting oem oil in, shop before put heavier oil and resulted in very stiff ride and developed leak so changing all seals. Question? Video shows special tool to reseet bushings and
Seals.  Do I need this. Draining oil overnight as I write.
2.  Changing brake pads and rotors, also getting new chromed wheels but thats another story.  Anyway ,
Reading manual there was a note about not depressing brake lever while the calipers where off rotor.
Yea i did.  Any advice on changing pads. Seems like they are jamed tight so is there an easy way to release this pressure and change pads. Any and all help greatly appreciated.  Like I said I am a novice.
Thanks Rich Knef

If you get a large screwdriver under the pad (preferably ) or pistons, you should be able to very gently push them back to the caliper.  Be careful not scar that piston. Once there back find a piece of wood of right thickness to put in the groove of the calper. FWIW

Amazon search for Motion Pro MC tools. You can buy a seal driver for about $40.

You can make your own fork seal driver.  I did it following these instructions and it worked.
