Am in the process of switching over to LED bulbs on my 99 Interstate, to save some E juice. Anyone done this? Is there another turn signal module to slow down winker.as there is less draw. ???

I've done it on both my Standard and I/S. Don't waste your time or money with standard LED bulbs...they just aren't bright enough. Get the Custom Dynamics panel inserts for front and rear. You'll need the 1156 panels for the rear, and the 1157 panels for the front. Always use the same color LED as the lens color you will be using.
Then go to superbrightleds.com and get yourself an electronic flasher, part # LF1-S-FLAT. Plug and play. While you're on that site, you can also get the #74 bulbs for the cluster, and a #67 for your license plate. I'm trunkless, so can't offer advice on those.
Oh, and by the way... Our alternators are like 6 million amps- incandescents are not taxing the system. If you want to do it because they look cool, are safer, and have great service life, those are the reasons to do it.

You will also have to remove the turn signal indicator, or install a diode pair; otherwise, when one side flashes, they all flash, because the filament in the indicator connects both sides together. To date, they don't make a bi-directional LED that fits in its place.

The Interstate does not suffer that issue since it has separate indicators in the cluster. The diode is only needed for Standard and Tourer models.

Superbrightleds is very reasonable when it comes to shipping. First class from shipping from MO to TX was just a couple of bucks. Even with shipping, they're cheaper than Kury! |

I installed an LED flasher on my STD/Tourer and have had zero problems, only one side flashes at a time. |

Or did you install the resistors? still have indicator bulb, no resistors. just front turns have LED, rear turns are wired with the Electrical Connection led stop lights. front LED caused very fast flash rate, without LED flasher. |
