I'm going to use my phone as  a GPS and sound source. Just seeing what you guys are using for a mounting/charger set up. I have a Galaxy Note 4

I made my own mount out of a 1/8" pc of aluminum and mounted it to the brake reservoir. I cut a slot the correct distance down to match the belt clip holder on the otter box I keep my Note 5 in. The thing is rock solid, just plug it in and go. I like my music selection better than the radio and if I am running the GPS it gives me the directions through the radio. I also have a strip of velcro on it so I can slap the Ipod on instead of the phone for local riding.

So are you slipping the belt clip in the slot you made in the aluminum?

Speaking of phone mounts.  Jade came with this mount on the handlebar.

I took it off.  But I'm going to put it back on so I can use Pandora on the phone.  Unfortunately my Zumo 665 doesn't support Pandora - that's supported by the new Zumo 590/595. Does support Bluetooth for calls. But the 590/595 don't have satellite radio connectivity with Navweather / Navtraffic.  Yeah I know, they support radar or traffic via the phone but that also lets your friends track where you are - Garmin even brags that as a "feature".  And of course others can also track you, like the government.  No thanks.  My 665 is a receiver only. Yeah I know the phone can be hacked.  Didn't mean to get on this tangent.

Anyway, what's this pseudo-Velcro thing on the top.  What's it called?  Looks like it may be more secure than Velcro.  Like to get a matching piece and see if it's good stuff for mounting the phone.

I don't know what it is called, but I think it behaves like a zipper does. It locks together, unlike Velcro which is like barbs.

I also have a note4. I could not find a phine holder large enough to work with the otterbox. Then i had a brilliant idea. I used a few large zip ties on the otterbox holster clip around my handlebars. Holds it perfectly just below the indicator lights on my interstate. Dont know how it would work on a standard or tourer but works great for me
