Ours was a pleasant ride, also.
I (and my Valk) met Jerry Jennings at the Mobil Station at the Jct of CR 491 and SR 44 in Lecanto, and Greg joined us shortly thereafter. While Jerry and I were waiting, I spotted a Valk stopping for the light, on on 491. He waved and paid attentioon to the light. Jerry hollered, and when he looked at us again, I stepped aside and pointed at my Valk engine. He perked up, and made the turn and stopped my for a short visit. His name is Chris, has had the Valk for 7 months, and was on his way to work. He works every Saturday, but said that he will get on the board or start frequenting the Hess/Speedway on 50 on Sundays.
Greg arrived a couple of minutes after Chris left, and we headed to Pedro to meet Frank. from there, we rode CR 42 to SR 44 to US 92 and the Volusia Mall for a quick meal of Chinese, and then to the Speedway to ogle all the new products and some very nice bikes of all brands. Lots of super paint jobs and sound systems, but some people thought it was the proper thing to share their personal taste in music with everyone within 100 yards. It even drowned out some very nice exhaust systems.
We met Jerry M and Bob, and visited with them as we browsed for a while. About the time they decided to leave, Jerry J and I had to find a place to sit down for a while, and we returned to the Honda tent, and visited with a guy from Rhode Island for a few minutes. Greg and Frank visited the Allstate Insurance tent/booth and scarfed up a bunch of freebies.
On the way back from a porta-potty trip, I spotted a very nice Valk, and snapped a couple of pics. Very shortly after rejoining Jerry, the Valk owners stopped by. If memory serves me, it was Shannon and his wife, and we had met at the Dixie Crossroads trip a few weeks ago.
About then, we decided it was time to head back home. After a little side trip trying to find a less congested (and legal) exit from our parking spots, we retraced our steps to Pedro, and the visited the 75 Chrome Shop in Wildwood, looking for some exhaust tips for Greg's new exhaust system. That was unsuccessful, but worth a try.
From there, we rode back through Inverness to our individual homes. All in all, a very nice day for a ride. Not too cold, and not too hot, and I put 225 miles on the Valkyrie.
