Tavares Downtown, on the waterfront. Antique and Classic Wood boats.
Come enjoy the smell of freshly varnished hulls! These are truly incredible boats to see, hear and watch run.
This is the second largest gathering of its kind in the US. Literally hundreds will be on display and in the water running and on display.
We will have antique and vintage Outboard powered craft as well, both in the water and on land. Lots of shade, plenty of places to eat, lots to see and lots of vendors with all kinds of hand made items to drool over. Usually a great breeze coming off the lake as well.

That sounds like fun. I hope the weather holds out, calling for rain over the weekend? If it looks good I may make the trip over and share a cigar with ya  Wink

Well....the venue is filling up rapidly.
Should be several million dollars worth of boats on display here by tomorrow.
Miss America 9 is here and in the water running. Double and Triple cockpit GarWoods, Chris-Crafts all over the place.....you name it and they are here. Bunches of Jersey Speed skiffs.....

If my darn hip wasn't such a problem I'd love to take it all in. It's the walking that does me in, by the time I walked the 2 blks. from the city parking I'd have to give it up. Kinda sucks really.  Angry

If I didn't have to get the taxes done, and already have a seat at the GatorNationals on Sunday, I';d be there.

Pappy, that's not playing fair. Love the pics of the oldies, brings back some memories of rides taken years ago. Sure glad I did some of that stuff when young.  Wink

Life is like a hot bath. It feels good while you’re in it, but the longer you stay in, the more wrinkled you get.

I hear that. Kinda like going into Cracker Barrel and looking around at all the old stuff hanging on the walls and you remember what they are and remember using them. Rita will sit there and try to convince me she doesn't remember any of it. She doesn't even want to go look at houses in The Villages, said she didn't want to go live with all those "old people."   Grin

Am set up in the East end of the park on the North side of the sidewalk that runs along the lake. Super close to the Ice Cream vendor and the bathrooms. Parking is not great but not bad either. Most I have had to walk is a block or so.
