Hi,
A friend purchased a 2013 F6B, and Honda calls the gearbox a 5 speed, including overdrive. Is the gearing actually any different then a 2010 Goldwing? (As he rode his friends 2010.)    DO they run slightly different RPM at highway speeds? Or did Honda always refer to the gearbox a 5 speed including overdrive?

Thanks for any help learning about this.

LOTS of people asked Honda for an Overdrive gear... so Honda changed the name of 5th gear to Overdrive.  Cheesy

Seriously though, no difference in gearing between any of the 1800 Wings that I know of.

The only difference is that the F6C (Valkyrie) has a 17" rear rim, where the Wing and F6B both have a 16" rear rim.  However, the F6C 17" rim carries a tire with a lower side wall, so I'm not sure if the OD of the tire is any different.
