Well I went about changing my brakes in the front. one side was no problem at all. However the right side was completely Frozen, the cap as well as the pin. I had to drill out the Allen head on the pin. I'm bringing home an assortment of cotter pins and we'll use that as the pin. I'll let you know how it goes.

If a correct pin cannot be refitted, buy a new caliper (used) they are not that expensive.

Wouldn't asking someone called Joker if he is serious be considered rhetorical ? Joker, I think they are trying to tell you this sounds HIGHLY UNSAFE. |

In the future, a 50/50 mix of acetone and ATF is the best rust penetrant there is. Let soak and retry the bolt/nut.

That reminds me of a old wing I bought. When I took it apart there were wood screws in place of bolts, nails instead of carter pins and plywood as spacers.  |

Just had the same thing happen to me. Both pins were froze solid. Bought an EZout set and had to use that to remove the pins. Ordered new pins and caps from Partzilla.
