The full coverage on the shock tubes will prevent lowering the tri clamp on the tubes. You can be brave and cut 1" off the inner shock springs but that is not a good idea, only proper way is to buy a set of 1" lower performance springs from a suspension specialist like Progressive suspension, or send the shock tubes out to a suspension rebuilder. Springs should be less than $150. A total performance rebuild could be $1000ish. Its not a big job to change the springs, same as replacing fork seals. Some times there is a pvc spacer between spring and large nut that compresses the spring, cutting an inch off that may be a cheap alternative.

I put a 3/4 lowering link on my Valk. The shop said the lowered the front as well to match. I did not question them as to how but will now ask. I know they did not put new springs on the bike. Will check and get back to this thread.

Sorry just found your post. I had the same problem with my 2014. I have shoulder injury from getting hit by a truck in 98 that bothers me after 800 to 900 miles on my 97, so when I made the decision to switch to the 1800 I wanted to lower it as much as feasible. I installed the 1" lowering kit from Lower Wing, put a Corbin seat on it and dropped the front end 3/4". The bike now seems to sit about 2 and 1/2 to 3" lower. We lowered the frontend the same way that people have been dropping the front end on the older Valks, we loosened the pinch bolts on the triple clamps and slipped the forks thru the desired amount then torqued the pinch bolts back.
Hope this helps.
Enjoy...
Vern

Just put a Corbin seat, with a nose job, on it. As VP notes, if you do the math, a Corbin with a nose job drops the height by about an inch and adds mucho comfort to boot.

The nose job" on a Corbin is where you tell them that you are concerned about your leg reach, so they narrow the front of the seat (the "nose") to allow your legs a straighter shot at the ground. This has the overall effect of lowering the seat height, as your legs do not have to take up length due to added splay of width during stops.
It is a request design service for "those in the know". Also, for "those in the know", you actually CAN have Corbin modify the seat foam density (just a bit) during construction to allow for different rider weights, they allow a bit a air into the mold during casting to add a touch of softness. If you are, say, under 170 pounds, it might be a consideration. I even had Corbin move the rider position on my seat as I found I sit differently than the stock seat was trying to place me.
