Was great to see you guys today! Told Lesa you were there and she said to give both of you a big hug......will leave that one to her.
There is now a great little place to eat on the lake in Tavares, right on the water, called the "Sand Bar". Good food and just a few feet from the water. Plenty of parking normally.
Turns out we had over 100 boats in the water and many more than that on land displays. One of the oldest was the little sailboat in Nick's photos. The boat was built in 1910.
The boat with the twin big blocks and vertical stacks is the Miss America IX. The boat will still top 100mph as it did during its racing history but the current owner respects the old girl and rarely puts her to that task these days.
As Nick said, Lesa's 1953 16' Lyman won an award today!

But.....Lesa flew up to see her Mom in Tennessee yesterday (it snowed on them today!!!) and was not able to receive the award. So....I conned a gal into being a stand-in for her!
I sent her this photo and the reply was something about not even being gone for 24 hours yet and already found a replacement blonde......Go figure. We men just can't get a break!

Billy was talking to her later and she seemed to respond well !
Nick, admiring the Miss America IX. The guy that owns is is super and answers questions readily.
