I'm looking at hard bags for my 2k Standard, the OEM bags are too pricey when you find them, and the jumbo Strong size would be nice for road trips. Was wondering if there is a down side to Tsukayu ABS bags. They're a good bit cheaper than fiberglass. And am I wrong, or were the bags on my Interstate not ABS? Any shared experience would be appreciated.

I have the Jumbo Strongs,,, made from hand laid fiberglass,, great bags to my liking. I have their audio faring also,, very nice. I didn't know they made ABS bags Fuzz,  guess I'ill take a look back at their website. The Jumbo Strongs are made for fitment on a large number of bikes, so they don't have a perfect fit on our bikes, there is a cutout for shocks that is not needed on Valks and it looks a bit weird, but as you can see, their stuff can be made to fit our bikes pretty well with the proper adjustments.

I looked at the Tsukayu site and see that they do now make bags in ABS plastic, which had been Honda's choice of materials for bags and trunks for many years. They are heavy and thick, I wouldn't have a problem with them as far as the material,, my only consideration would be living with the shock cutout in the bags.

If you can live with that, they certainly carry a lot of baggage, and give a distinctive Phat girl look that can't be beat.

PANCHO,
Where did you get the chrome bracing for under your bags?

I have jumbo's on mine and the only down side I have found is that they vibrate a little too much without something underneath to help support them.

Hey Jim,, I made the side rails and bracing from some stainless tubing I had laying around,, as I too thought some additional bracing was needed with the Tsukayu bags. While the supplied brackets are strong, there is no tip over protection and the bracing is no where near as substantial as Honda's. If nothing else I would recommend the U bracket Tsukayu sells. Here is what I did.
