First, I got the Valk back together and want to thank you loads for the extra set of hands. Just made it easier for me and it rides great now. New tires front & rear, new bearings in front, rear bearings are both double row and are fine, rear end fully serviced with new dampers. Next project.....valve adjust. After 45k I have one that's a little noisy.

Re. the 1200, after we got it up in the air and on the c/s I removed the front wheel, found I couldn't depress the sidewall enough to get at the inside of the rim to sand it down smooth. So, it was back to the shop where they had changed out the tires on the Valk for me and did some other work. When I got there, who should walk up but one of the business partners that's also the son of a long time friend. We chatted a bit, then told him I needed the tire removed so I could take the wheel home and clean it up so it would hold air. He suggested letting them do it as long as I was there and they had all the tools. Me....go for it. Twenty minutes later it looked great, no leaks showed after the young guy that did all my other work also sprayed it with soapy water. He checked everything....no air leaks now. As he walked away I gave him $5 and told him he saved me a lot of work and it was worth it to me. Went inside and asked young Steve(friend's son) how much, he countered with "what's fair to you?"  I just smiled and told him I wasn't the person running a business so he said "how's $20 sound?" I handed him the twenty then reminisced about some trips we took with his dad and mom. Next stop....back to the brakes. Once they're up to snuff I'll start on the electric; lights, gauges, etc. Just wish the engine wasn't still questionable, needs to be run on the street to be certain. Thanks again for you help.

Glad I was able to help, John. Was a pleasure meeting you. Hopefully soon I can see that beauty on the road!
Like I said, if you ever need a hand I'm not far away and would be glad to help out anytime.

Sounds like you got a great deal on fixing that tire!!  cooldude
