Hey all you dark siders , need some help ! I have run a car tire for the past 10 years . My question is where in DFW preferably North Fort Worth area can I get a car tire changed (walk in) ? I am from Pa. and knew where to get it done up there. Since retiring here haven't needed to change one . I understand the bike shops here won't do it !Thanks for your input. Dino

I have never taken a tire in - do it myself with tire irons, soap and sometimes a crow bar. So I'm not much help.
Valkpilot has a tire changer and if he would consider a wrench party, that would be the best way to mount the darkside tire.
I personally don't know of anywhere to have a car tire mounted in the area but someone may chime in.

Find a used tire place and walk it in, I've had some of mine mounted that way.

I agree with Houdini. Though we're assuming your talking about walking in with the new tire and old tire and wheel in hand. Just find a local tire place. The first time I went to mine, he did it for 5 or 10. The second time he charged like 20 or 25. Hehe. I would advise to take the brake disk off though.
Though if your talking about having someone do the whole thing, I dont know. Probably have to find a local bike shop who knows what hes doing.

Yes I was referring to (walk in ) with my new car tire . I just thought someone would chime in with a go to place they have used with no hassle! I may try the tire iron approach. Thanks all for the suggestions ,

As hard as it is to mount a DS tire with a manual tire changer, I can't imagine voluntarily doing one with spoons. Start with the closest tire shop to you and work your way out until you find one that will do it.

My first DS tire was mounted by Wanderer using spoons, we had to set the tire out in the sun for about an hour to get it warm enough to mount it. If you decide to go this route get high-quality spoons at least 24" long.

Darkside tire mounted ! I found a small independent tire shop just down the road to change my tire . Dow Tire , south Jacksboro Hwy .Azel Tx. They are great guys, very reasonable ,and I will be back to deal with them again. Just a small hole in the wall, but a family owned business trying to make a living .
