just got a MS Batwing from a fellow member and bought new brackets.
I really just need to see a pic of the bracket on the fairing and the location of the clamps on the forks.
Any tips you can offer to help make the job go smoothly will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
 Tony

This is how I did mine. Used a 1" ready rod coupling at the top so that the angle the fairing sits is changed to a more upright position allowing the fairing to fit and sit tighter to the headlight.

This is how it will fit without the coupling ..... okay, but can be better.

This one as well looks good but could fit tighter on top of the headlight IMO.
It is a pretty good fit compared to others I've seen.

This one is mine ...... no gap between the fairing and headlight. I'm not picking on anybody else' install as I'm sure they are happy with them. I just had a problem myself with the gap, due to the fairing being universal.

FWIW, The fork clamps, the two bottom ones. I'm on my third set. The bottom two
keep breaking.

I've had to resort to something redneck to mount the fairing on the bottoms,
much more rugged, looks fugly.

All I'm saying is, watch the bottom two for cracks.

Other than that I like my MS Batwing. It is a universal, so getting it to fit the first time,
good luck.

My brackets are like new ..... no issues, but, must be lined up properly.

That looks really nice. I wish I had seen that when I had my Tourer.

t-man thanks for the pic's and tips  cooldude    I went to ACE today and got some couplings and washers along with a 2" 1/4 x20 carriage bolt that i used as  studs.  I cut the bolt into 2-  1" "all thread "

The fairing brackets are touching my speedo and tach,  do yours do that?  It is also a tight fit.
The top clamp is as high as it will go and I have to do quite a bit of wiggling to get the fairing into the brackets.
But there is NO gap between the fairing and headlight.

I also had to take the top Moto-wings (like Baker Air wings ) off so the fairing lowers won't hit it.

Tommorow I'm going to finish up and try and modify my light bar to fit and wire it up.

Thanks again,  cooldude

Your welcome.

You have done the same as I up to this point.
I flipped my brackets to the opposite sides and that gave me clearance off the gauges. It's close but there is clearance and even vibration doesn't effect the clearance. If you have done this already, you could probably make the hole in the bracket oblong so you can gain the clearance you need.

I'd like to see what you do with the light bar so post up a photo or two if you would.
