I have been told that a high output alternator from a 1998 Gold Wing 1500 can be used on my 97 Valk. This valk has been triked out and I plan to add lights, radio, etc.

yes it will work.
but you have to remove the 3 screws holding the alternator togather and clock the face to match the one for the valk.
I screwed up the first time installed one from a gold wing, wasn't paying attention to detail and didn't clock it.
had one hellova a time getting it in and the post for the positive wire was at the wrong place.
shoulda seen me trying to get that sucker back out.
I thought I was going to break the engine housing I was prying on it that hard with a 3 foot prybar..
