I was off the grid for a bit until recently. I now see the SmartSwitch advertised. I recently replaced my start button for the 2nd time. I've done the whole remove, thouroughly clean and replace with some success.  But, eventually it burns out.

So my question is, has anyone installed one on your Valk, and does it do what they say? For the cost, it certainly can't hurt. If this product does what the ad says, I'm in!

Hey F6, Sorry, I can't testify first hand knowledge on the SmartSwitch as I have an IS and the SmartSwitch really doesn't help the IS because the headlights are on relays already.  But, I have spoken with BonS about the product and looked at one last fall and I have to say that it is well put together and will operate as specified on the Standards and Tourers.  Taking the load of the headlight off of the starter switch is huge on those bikes.  The added benefit of providing more power to the headlight through larger wire size and a direct feed sure doesn't hurt.  If you have added lights (such as driving lights) tied into your headlight circuit, you are begging for trouble with your starter switch.  This setup will clear up that problem too.  As for installation, it appeared to be a simple plug and play.  Hope this helps.

Bought one last November. My headlight sure did light up the garage what a nice improvement Smiley
I wanted to take the heavy load off of the start switch and the Smartswitch is the answer. Very well
made and easy to install. I'm in Michigan so I waited until spring to ride. My mpg stayed the same Sad

With the SmartSwitch, Bon has created a nice plug and play method of going what the two relays did when I installed them years ago.  I have not had starter or hi/low beam switch issue since I made the change.  If the SmartSwitch had been available back then, I would have used it...

Sweet! Those are replies I was hoping for.  I haven't seen any crap posted or advertised on the VRCC yet.  I am definitely investing in one now.   cooldude

You might say I'm a bit biased  Shocked but the Smart Switch will fix you right up. No more melted switches and a brighter, longer lasting headlight as well. It's true that the Interstate has built in relays - so no melting switches, but the headlight brightness and headlamp lifetime will both be improved with the Smart Switch as well. If there's an easier accessory to install it would have to be something chrome!

Ive got both of his switch / relay circuits.

One on my Tourer headlight, the other on my driving lights.

Absolute quality products exactly as advertised.
