Sherry and I are driving home from church today on the overpass near Redbarn fleamarket in Bradenton. Ambulance, covered body, bike 12 feet from us as we drive around the ambulance. Gosh I hate to see this!  About three months ago I made a pact, I will not drive south into the city.

I have seen my share of that and it always hits home with me, Be safe out there, to many idiots driving with to many distractions.

Yes, the right-of-way is something I drummed into my girls heads when they started to drive. My mantra re. that has always been......"the right-of-way" is something you get ONLY if someone gives it to you. I'll take second place any day, in a car or on a bike. I noticed a guy absent in church this morning, he often rides his Harley in. Legs are all messed up from previous accidents, uses a cane all the time, rides in shorts and sandals with no helmet. Found out this morning he had been broad-sided by some woman texting and went through a light. Has a bunch of broken bones, one side of his face is all messed up as is his arm and leg on that side. The guy looks close to my age, just turned 60 so I'm told. Refuses to wear any kind of gear. I'm told he took a pretty good lick on the side of his head this time when he hit the road, maybe it will knock some sense into it. Then again.....probably not.

That sucks big time.

Got home form work and the news had a fatal motorcycle accident on 95 earlier today.
95 was closed for some time.
