I'm looking into getting the OEM leather saddle bags (Part #:
08L56-MFY-100C). What I'm asking those in the group is what OEM mounting hardware you use? There are what looks to two choices. a) Part #:08L70-MJR-670 or b) Part #: 08L75-MJR-670.

Visually they don't look any different. Part number wise, there is only a single digit difference. Cost is where the biggest difference lies. Because of the large difference in cost, my guess is that one set is more robust than the other, thus supporting more weight.

Brad, I was led to believe that you would need both of those brackets. The 08L70-MJR-670 is the mounting bracket (attached to the bike) and the 08L75-MJR-670 is the Stay, which is attached to the bags. You can then remove the bags from the bike by unbolting from the bracket.  Undecided

That is correct, you need both.  08L70-MJR-670 is the bracket that gets attached to the passenger grab rail and functions as extenders to move the attachment point outside the rear fender; 08L75-MJR-670 is the stay (steel tube loop) that the saddlebags bolt on to and then, in turn, bolt to 08L70-MJR-670.

Thanks Dino for verifying that.  Grin

Awesome, thanks for that. After reading the installation instructions it's obvious.

The pictures hosted as examples don't display the correct part, thus causing my confusion.
